Auto rifles in PvP vs prime weapons
So I've noticed that dueling anyone with an auto rifle is a sure way to die. Scout rifle versus them work, but as is the rate of fire is hardly anything compared to the auto. On top of that versions are included with 44 shots and even extreme rof.
Yes if u have well placed shots and a target that's exposed for a time a scout can stand, but let's say, scout vs scout and auto vs auto. Two controls as I would put it, the scout battle will last longer than the auto battle. Especially iron banner players.
Guys I've been seeing several threads stating that certain "brands" of auto rifles just decimate any target terribly quick. Aka easy and no learning curve. How can u counter or even begin to think about it when u get ur shield down and headshotted in the same instance!?!
I really think that if auto rifles are gonna fast kills, that their recoil that should be noticeable more. Their bullet spread is literally like lazer beamz!!

Every time someone disagrees with OPs opinion they get torn a new one by him or are just flat out called garbage by him. OP is either a troll an idiot or both. I used a jigoku sr3 scout rifle for the entire beta and didn't really have a problem going against auto rifles. Honestly, I had a easier time killing auto users then I did killing stupid golden gun hunters lol. And b4 OP has a chance to say "o look at your kd ratio your garbage I don't believe you", let me just stress that I was and am an objectives player in PvP. My kd ratio might not be that great but look at my crucible SCORE and amount of captures I have "900+" and then tell me I suck so I can laugh at you. Last, I'd much rather have my .66 kd with 900+ captures 450+ assists and a HIGHER crucible score then you then your "good" 1.95 kd with only 350 captures n 250 assists with a lower crucible score.

17 Repliesscout rifles need a small rof boost, any modern day gun thats semi auto will fire as quickly as you can pull the trigger. i understand why thats not the case in video games as people are in the habit of buying auto controllers. but to lable anything with that slow a rof semi auto is a crime. iv seen people fire consecutive rounds from a bolt action rifle faster then some of the "semi auto" scout rifles would let me shoot.

2 RepliesScout has more range, and a jigoku Scott rifle can take someone out in 3 headshots. It also depends on the map. Sniper and scout are great on the moon, but shotgun and auto are better in Venus. It's a tube and place thing. If you move around while shooting with a scout right you can beat someone with an auto rifle.

8 Replies.. auto rifles dominate close and medium range in pvp, pulse rifles are supposed to be a jack of all trades weapon, master of none that allows the best use of the weapon regardless of range, and the scout is for long range. think of it as rock paper scissor, auto beats the other two in close, scout beats the other two at long range, and pulse should be comfortable and usable at all ranges (however i do feel that pulse were under powered)

Don't cry cause u ran up on b flag with a scout rifle and didn't demolish people...get urself some distance and use what they are made for.....don't cry and moan about assault rifles being better at close range when ur using a mid to long range gun lol....use ur brains guys....I used both variants if the shingen c and the cydonia ar3 the trax mallus III and gallad b....and while I used the shingen c the most a good player that knew how to use his scout rifle would murder me as long as he landed his shots and kept his optimal distance Go for head shots and know the strengths and weaknesses of your gun....I seen very good players DOMINATE with all of the guns scout pulse auto hand cannons.....everyone some bad kid gets melted by whatever gun they aren't good at using they cry for a nerf...it's sad honestly....if u can't get kills with a gun that's your fault not the guns fault cause I promise u there's people out there melting faces with the gun ur saying isn't good...and I also promise u there's more than enough players out there that get donkey stomped every time they use an auto rifle....be good or be good at it....quit crying

12 RepliesIf you are in a close-to-mid-range, head-to-head duel with an auto rifle---and you aren't carrying one----you are dying because you made a tactical mistake. Not because the AR is over-powered. The AR is SUPPOSED to dominate at close range...and have an advantage at mid-range. The reason why (good) players have concerns about the AR is because the Shingen (and to a lesser extent the Cydonia) have very little recoil. Which makes them unrealistically accurate at LONG range. If you are running with a Scout Rifle, then you need to stay OUT of "duels" with players running with automatic rifles. You want to pull back to mid-to-long range, and look to FLANK your opponent. So that you get the drop on him...and put one or two shots on him before he can figure out where he's taking fire from. The Scout Rilfe is not for rushing around the map with ala CoD "quick scoping" or the Halo DMR. You're going to get handed your head that way. You want see this weapon as a mid-to-short-long-rangel SNIPER rifle. Sort of like the Longbow-DMR in Titanfall.

23 RepliesAnd one other thing I'm not sure if u guys are aware of this but I'm gonna say it cause it doesn't seem like you are....but we only went to level 8 so u have no idea how many guns are out there that could be better or worse than what u guys got smashed with in the beta.....it's gonna be a lot different when there people of all levels in there using a wide variety of different guns

Im getting tired of people whining cuz they got smashed in the beta during pvp if you sucked at halo or cod or battlefield youll prolly suck at this. Sorry that you guys cant redeem yourselves in a new I.P but thats the gaming world alot of people suck some people are decent few people are good and even fewer will be pro. Thats how it works the fact your whining about primaries at lvl 8 in a beta is proof

44 RepliesEdited by Kurasaki: 8/6/2014 9:04:19 PMI actually was lucky enough to find an uncommon scout rifle with a fire rate high enough to where I could almost shoot it as fast as I could pull the trigger, and the fire rate rating wasn't even past the half way mark...i.e. I believe people are forgetting the we literally used a sliver if not a mere fraction of the 1,000,000 plus guns that will be in the final game... And most importantly all guns have ratings such as fire rate, damage, impact, accuracy and the likes... therefore the further we get in the game the more effective scout rifles will become until theyre eventually trumping assault rifles with ease... Finally it only makes sense that assault rifles would be the go-to weapon in the "early-game" stage of destiny to help a larger base of people become comfortable with destiny and to increase the install base...You don't want to scare fans away with incredibly high earning curves as eventually youll eventually just end up with the same player pool in PvP matches over and over again...coming from a avid Gears of War fan you can trust me on this...in due time the skilled players will become more and more prevalent and assault rifles pressence will diminish...just takes time...Bungie knows what theyre doing...

1 ReplyI know what you mean. Weapons are unbalanced in PvP. Anything not a AR has to be used from a distance. The lower RoF guns are ineffective. One thing I learned. I switched to a AR and I was getting more kills and it was actually easier to survive. A AR like the Shin-gen C is an example of one of the nest in the beta. 44 mag size, Low recoil, average RoF, and the upgrades make it even better. It's effective. One way to fix this would be to have the slower weapons do a bit more damage. Other than that I couldn't think of a way.

I sort of agree, however before you keep reading consider that I have not spent as much time as some others that played crucible, but I did play quite a bit (mostly iron banner). I tried using auto rifles, and at the very beginning when you first get to choose a weapon at the tower gunsmith it is the best by far. However I played the game to the cap and had never touched the auto rifle again since the very beginning. I used the scout rifle for PVE and PVP and found myself at the top of my team, and I am not even that good at other shooters. I loved that weapon and even used the hand cannon effectively for a little while in PVP with great success. I was easily winning gunfights at medium to long range and even won a few by halo jumping around people and no scoping them. I never had any problems with the auto rifles. The shot gun trumps it up in their personal bubble and the others can beat it long range if you are paying attention considering the time to kill at long ranges. Moral of the story, I had no problems with auto rifles, you just need to know how you gun is meant to be used and play to your strengths.

2 RepliesI used scout rifles probably just as much or more than auto rifles during the beta. I felt satisfied when another player would spray my direction with auto rifle fire as I calmly capped his bloody head off. Tasty tears.
