I actually was lucky enough to find an uncommon scout rifle with a fire rate high enough to where I could almost shoot it as fast as I could pull the trigger, and the fire rate rating wasn't even past the half way mark...i.e. I believe people are forgetting the we literally used a sliver if not a mere fraction of the 1,000,000 plus guns that will be in the final game... And most importantly all guns have ratings such as fire rate, damage, impact, accuracy and the likes... therefore the further we get in the game the more effective scout rifles will become until theyre eventually trumping assault rifles with ease... Finally it only makes sense that assault rifles would be the go-to weapon in the "early-game" stage of destiny to help a larger base of people become comfortable with destiny and to increase the install base...You don't want to scare fans away with incredibly high earning curves as eventually youll eventually just end up with the same player pool in PvP matches over and over again...coming from a avid Gears of War fan you can trust me on this...in due time the skilled players will become more and more prevalent and assault rifles pressence will diminish...just takes time...Bungie knows what theyre doing...

 • Yurp...if you've played borderlands of diablo than its similar to that to put it in perspective...where there are a multitude of guns but many of them are simply sporting different aesthetics or attachments/special effects...
You forget, with your lack of understanding. That scouts are just one weapons type, autos will receive the same treatment. Your logic is flawed. ^•^ Right back at you bro

 • Do you attempt to copy my rhetoric because you lack the ability to think on your own accord...or you just trying to flatter me ^-^ you silly goose you...anywho yes assault rifles will have faster fire rates...but they will top out...and in that same regard I actually recieved an assault rifle with a fire rate essentially maxed out (1 centimeter from being full in the fire rate category) and it shot blazingly fast...nonetheless what I'm attempting to convey is that scout rifles will eventually garner the same speed and rate of fire as assault rifles as Ar's while seeming to have a significant boost in fire rate is only so because of the fact that weve only used early game Ar's...scout rifles will be able to achieve their firing speed as well in the long run...given the marksmen using the rifle has an itchy trigger finger and a gun that allows it...hence forth the AR's fire rate will be negligible at best...and both guns will be even in regards to fire rate considering thats your main fear... And honestly if your having this much trouble with Ar's I doubt you'll have me in your "sights" very much in the crucible...but ill be more than happy to dance over your corpse after having killed you with both a scout rifle and an Ar in the same match to show you their effectiveness...^-^

 • The ar will also be getting more powerful so you're above logic makes no sense

 • It makes perfect sense in context...the point of most people wishing for the Ar's to be nerfed is that they have moderate damage output but an insane fire-rate therefore allowing them to trump scout rifles at close range with ease unless the enemy combatant manages to hit headshots exculivley... Scout rifles however will in the long range scope of the game continue to have higher fire rates to where they shall eventually be able to shoot at the equivalent speed of Ar's...hence there being not much need to nerf Ar's...

 • Then the scout rifle would be overpowered because of a too high fire rate your trading one for another

 • Yes he is, that would make it EVEN MORE UNBALANCED FOR PVP. Scout won't ever have a rate of fire close to an auto rifle, maybe close to a pulse...

 • I never said the scout rifles would exceed fire rate over the ar's...just to simply be comparable...or you sincerely trying to troll/f*** with me or are you honestly not able to comprehend anything that im saying...

Look at that quote and tell me that it reads like something that should be taken literally. It sounds like hype building. With what we've seen assuming that we've only seen 2% of the weapons in the game, we know some specifics on how the weapons are setup and I'm not seeing that many possibilities. Im sure that I'm not the only person who refuses to believe that ludacris number without seeing the data files and every single variable and how they can combine to make a selection of weapons. Then I'd like to see the math behind it. This isn't Border Lands where there are as many versions of the same gun as their are it times the number of everything a gun can have.

 • The true funny thing is that people such as yourself would rather argue that you may get a suboptimal experience from a game your considering purchasing rather than allowing yourself to simply sit back and hope for the positive potential...but maybe I'm just not a glass half-empty kinda guy... Telling me I'm not "reading" the quote when I iterally copy and pasted it tells me you have a hidden agenda and wish to prove that I've somehow paraphrased something out of context...and in relation to context you should understand that speaking in an eccstatic if even market-esque tone doesn't mean that everything said is going to be BS...no matter how much you and the other pessimists may feel... In regards to the weapons there is easily the possibility of such an outrageous number of combinations simply from attachments alone, disregarding weapon skin...minor alterations to aesthetic design, and the fact that there are a variety of damage types such as void, spark, and standard just to name several... but from attachments alone I, within the confounds of the beta, stumbled across at least 3+ scout rifles all with the same bullet damage but each with different attachments, and since youve cofirmed that guns having different attachhments such as borderlands implements do in fact count as individual guns than destiny can easily achieve the same number of weapons within the game...especially considering there may be gun types weve yet to see And I'm sure youd like to see the numbers...I'd love to as well...but nonetheless all we can work with is what were presented with...and I've read, located, and sourced direct information and quotes from the lead weapon designer himself yet people such as yourself would still sit there argue to the contrary saying show more proof when you haven't established any in defense of your own argument which seems slightly biased to me... And considering youv'e mentioned borderlands, its been mentioned by the developers several times that they've taken an immnese amount of innovation from borderlands in the development of this game and therefore they could easily implement similar weapon design intto destiny...honestly the fact that you think it can't is quite bewildering especially when you imply your mathamatically inclined... If you wish to continue treading in your own dispair feel free to do so...but trying to convince me otherwise when youv'e yet to lay forth any comprehensive feedback other than "I dont think so, therefore it wont"...I really see no reason to give you any time of day...

 • It bewilders me that post mathematical numbers an still say that a rate of fire will match up between auto rifles and scout. Oh yeah by the way read the title of the freaking thread you prick. It's not, talk about guns and numbers, it's discuss how auto rifles in PvP are overused and out duel other primes. Go make your own forum.

 • Actually I was simply replying in a respectful fashion to someone who replied to me in regards to the number of guns...something you wouldnt understand... if you wish to read what was discussed than you would understand...Im sure thats a difficult task for you... I sincerely hope I never cross you in destiny...you seem like a pretty sh***y person to encounter...

 • They probably had about 150 in the beta and that was about a quarter of the lvl 8 guns in the full game...
Maybe like 1500
• As the above article states...the game will have more guns than all the guns from Halo 1-3 (including ODST and Reach) squared and then squared again... lets say theres only 30 weapons in halo (theres significantely more trust me) 30^2=900...then 900^2=810,000...and thats not even starting with the correct base number of all the weapons in halo...i.e. theres a shitload more than 1500 guns...but believe what you wish...^-^

 • Crucible is a averages out damage game mode only people getting scared off are those who don't want to test their metal. That point continuing, auto rifles have no learning curve, rather u can kill with compensating for recoil, and it's a terribly quick kill. Even longer ranges.
