• Nerf headshot multiplier on Autos signifficantly.
• Reduce stability stat on Shingen family weapons.

Or reduce the rate of fire on the Shingen. I was dismissing the complaints about the ARs as whining, until I finally got ahold of a Shigen-C. Then my reaction was "Holy Sh!t...this thing is lethal."
-
Nah. The time to kill is similar from shingen to the ar3 so I dont want a ROF nerf. Its just the stability (lack of recoil) that gives you the illusion that it is better. That combined with rediculous headshot multipliers.
-
Agreed if the rate of fire is changed it would be a auto rifle. It just needs to kick like an AK
-
That's not an illusion. The greater stability makes it a more effective killing machine. Than the other ARs. The reason why I would prefer to see the ROF reduced is because it allows you to bring its performance back within the parameters of other ARs without having to fundamentally alter the personality of the rifle (its very low recoil and stabiity in auto fire) Increase the recoil, and you might as well elliminate it as a distinct class of AR.
-
the greater stability makes it a greater killing machine.
Yes but only in the hands of the inexperienced. (thats why it was so popular in the beta). You cant just reduce the ROF because ROF and Impact are mathematically predictable based on each other. If you nerf ROF, you have to increase Impact. This is a balancing feature in place to monitor the vast amount of weapons in this game. Im pretty sure the DPS isnt overpowered. And we dont need easy to use weapons. The aim assist, or should I say Auto Aim, is already horrendous.
-
No, in the hands of everyone. Stability is also part of the picture. What makes the Shigen so deadly is that it has such a high rate of fire, and there is next to no recoil that has to be managed. On the flip-side, part of what makes the PR somewhat underpowered is that its recoil is just as bad--if not worse---than some of the ARs. But its range and impact are not increased to compensate. Same with the HC. The rounds hit hard. Pretty much a guarenteed 1 or 2 shot kill on anything less than a Major/Ultra. But its heavy recoil (among other things) make it a more difficult weapon to use. Yes, increasing the recoil is the simplest fix...but if you do that...you basically have the same weapon as the Cydonia. So there's little point into having two weapons that basically perform the same. Lower the fire rate, and you reduce the killing speed of the weapon without having to alter its fundamental character and personality.
-
The bullet spread man. Look at it. It deviates less than any pulse weapon.
-
Yes, increasing the recoil is the simplest fix...but if you do that...you basically have the same weapon as the Cydonia.
Sigh. You couldnt be more wrong. The actual difference between the two (excluding stability) is that the Cydonia has less ROF, and proportionately more damage per bullet. That means if you did reduce the ROF (and remember you would have to add more impact because of the balancing system) , you would effecively create another Cydonia. No. Reduce the stability of the Shingen.
-
Dude if u change the rate of fire. IT FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGES IT FROM A AUTO RIFLE. Theoretically speaking. Bro. If u fire an automatic weapon by holding the trigger down the whole time it's going to kick.
-
That's just it.... What makes the Shingen-C different is that it doesn't really kick. So you can just point, pull the trigger, and hose down your target until it's dead. Rinse. Repeat.
-
so true. On the same page.

what it comes down to is the auto rifle absolutely dominates mid-to-close range. it's the only primary gun that does so, IMO. you don't have to think abt it. hand cannon, pulse rifle and scout all require a few tics to aim, but auto rifle you can aim while shooting. if I have the option, I'll just use the machine gun, has the accuracy of the scout, the pierce of a hand cannon, and the speed of a pulse rifle. basically covers everything the auto rifle can't do, and sniper rifle for long range. ultimately tho, I think the more skilled players won't use the AR at all, because of what it lacks in precision. and to comment on the topic, lol, a nerf to precision damage, decreasing per shot, so the last round does the least damage, would fix it. right now there's no penalty for spray and pray
-
Exactly there's no penalty or learning curve to shooting the auto rifles. In crucible this turns into who shoots first and holds the trigger. Not skill. Any auto rifles should kick the more you hold down the trigger, and if your lucky you get one that has a special to increase accuracy while holding down, but is hardly numb down.
-
I still say they should remove the AUto Rifle's precision damage entirely. if you use a spray an pray weapon, don't give it precision multipliers. that way you -have- to use something else to complete bounties and score rewards, without fundamentally changing the auto rifle. that leaves something casual gamers can use, while rewarding skilled shooters using scout/hand cannon
-
The penalty is that you waste time and ammo. All of which are limited. Which is why I don't believe any of the auto rifles except the Shingen-C need to be adjusted. The S-C, however is just unrealistically accurate for its rate of fire.
-
Bullet spread my friend. I'm saying this again, it literally doesn't change the farther the target is. Or just have a recoil increase, atleast so that ppl can't just hold down the trigger for one steady spray
-
Stability nerf = recoil increase. In this case.
