Scout has more range, and a jigoku Scott rifle can take someone out in 3 headshots. It also depends on the map. Sniper and scout are great on the moon, but shotgun and auto are better in Venus. It's a tube and place thing. If you move around while shooting with a scout right you can beat someone with an auto rifle.

Counter arguement: autos have range up to "mid" range. Have a rof that will tear down shields faster any other PRIME weapon. This is all possible since it's recoil is low and that the bullet spread is still very precise at full auto. The maps all have areas and cover where auto rifles can perform. An well disciplined player with a good trigger finger can take on a sniper on the moon map. Watch how autos fire fully and all the bullets will still be seen near the sites. It's overused and it for that reason

Edited by MonkeyD: 8/13/2014 7:43:32 PMRight, of you take advantage of the landscape and use the weapon type properly, any weapon will be a beast in pvp. There are a few great auto rifles, but plenty of shitty ones too. The gallahad for example, plenty of Scoutt rifles had high impact with high rate of fire too, if you had a fast trigger finger you could totally rock with it. I think it comes down to your playing style. Some people thought shotguns and melee should be needed because if you came up close and did a shotgun melee combo you were guaranteed a kill, I say just pay the game, learn what works best with the game and go with the flow. Unless s particular weapon type is so over powered that it is impossible to beat. But auto rifles just aren't op. If you move around while shooting and make it hard for them to track you you can beat an auto rifle, I did it plenty of times.
