The casual player has no reason to play Destiny anymore. By creating "The Final Shape" based on YouTube streamers complaining nothing is hard enough, Bungi has taken away the reward system for the bulk of their community, who do not play 8 hours a day.

1 ReplyEdited by FloodZ: 8/12/2024 6:39:37 PMThat's not true! I'm as casual as they get, and if I wanted to right now I could run ritual pathfinder...oh, only one really long path that doesn't require PVP. Well nevermind, I could farm the exotic class item....oh, requires non-matchmade fireteam and almost impossible to get the roll I want. Well nevermind, I could run the Pale Heart pathfinder...oh, boring as -blam!- and no targeted farming for Ergo Sum. Well nevermind, I can farm bounties and bright dust...oh, not available anymore. Nevermind, I can work on obtaining the title and...oh that requires cooperative play. Nevermind, I could run Solstice for cool looking new high-stat armor and...oh the armor sucks and the farm is broken. Well nevermind I can just play the game for fun and overlevel myself for upcoming content because I like to play casually and not sweat out every -blam!- encounter and...capped at -5 you say?

13 RepliesEdited by javix2k10: 8/12/2024 3:53:52 AMOh oh...you made the BBKs mad. Remember...if you give an opinion, YOU are the problem, NOT them with their salty attitude towards solos/casuals/noobs or basically anybody giving an opinion on the state of the game. 🤣

I just do some bounties a couple times a week and call it good. Definitely casual, lacking the desire to constantly change play style with every new gadget they introduce. Shooting guns in new locations without the social agenda would be enough for me.

I get your point 👍 But hear me out: Why not play something else? I moved on to other games, besides you have to understand destiny is on its last year's?... Months? Lol there's little they can or will improve at this point. Plus let's be honest here they will never cater to the lower denominator they will always favor those with "views" or "channels" because it's promotion and destiny 2 (Bungie) it's a business. So in conclusion: Just move on.

1 ReplyEdited by CookieNiki: 8/12/2024 10:19:59 PMAs a looter shooter, we have way too many weapons that mean nothing, we're always getting loot to delete. One can play for hours just to end with nothing worthy to justify that time spent. It's time that Bungie makes Destiny more MMO and less looter shooter. Destiny needs quests, side-quests, mystery missions, more collectibles, puzzles, etc. Bungie should bring back ALL campaign and exotic missions from D2 and I mean, really ALL of them, even from vaulted content. Put them in a destinations node, and create triumphs and objectives for playing them with custom-themed cosmetic loot and a unique weapon at the end. It's time to make all content available and valuable. But again I insist that Destiny shines brighter when periodic and new missions, quests, collectibles, puzzles, etc, are a big part of the content. The hamster wheel "repeat-'til-you-vomit" content doesn't work, players are already burned out on that.

As a casual that’s been here for the entirety (d1 beta - current)think I can say that once the story wrapped up my interest dropped. The witness felt like a nothing burger and now these echoes feel like the same. I’m tired of hearing how ‘dangerous’ the vex are yet they seem like no threat in game. I’m a chump and paid all 3 seasons/echos but once that wraps I’m gone (yes I’m aware nobody cares). The game is stale and being held back by old tech and an unwillingness of leadership to evolve and or invest. Maybe as an old geezer at 41 I’ve moved beyond gaas or looter shooters but I wouldn’t be surprised if others feel the same.

1 ReplyEdited by Yosemite Sam: 8/12/2024 1:21:29 PMWhen a campaign is the only thing to really look forward to it tends to drive people away, and that is what is happening to Destiny. The game is time-consuming, but the problem is that a lot of it is just wasted time. I don't mind a challenge but there needs to be an incentive to go with a challenge and for me, this developer has failed to do that with most of this game. Most of what has been talked about on is the exotic class items, and if that is the only incentive for most at this point, yes this developer has failed as a developer. The difficulty went up, but the reward system stayed the same and a lot of people are tired of being flooded with garbage every single day. Destiny has one of the worst loot systems in gaming that is a huge turn-off and part of the problem with it was the community. A lot of you wanted to keep all your old loot from years ago, you threatened this developer to leave if they removed them, and the streamers jumped on the bandwagon. So now we are stuck with a loot system that is filled with garbage because you guys gave them no reason to really need to design actual new loot. Pat yourselves on the back because 99.99% of the loot in this game is filled with years of old useless loot that has flooded the entire loot system in this game. This means the difficulty increase is not worth the time or day just to get flooded with garbage.

9 RepliesEdited by CORPERATE COMMANDER: 8/12/2024 1:56:08 PMSad bit is bungie is fully aware the difficulty increase killed the playerbase off since lightfall, since bungies way of difficulty is ohk behind cover or some bs attack that shoots through walls or tedious immune phases etc lol I'm positive that this dlc was made for sherpas,ex bungie employees and sweats to make as much money of it as possible like a goodwill send off for the streamers and creators of d2 ,I just cannot see from a business point of view why they would only cater to the minority, a minority I might add that arnt even enough players to keep the game off life support but they have just stuck to there guns kept difficulty high and watched the flames get higher, it's obv they don't care anymore or too proud to admit that there majority of players arnt sweats

Better be careful, these type of posts bring out the BDF in full force!

8 RepliesIt’s a game dude, there was never any reason to play beyond having fun. We all had our time on the ride, and now it’s time to get off. The sun has finally set for Destiny, and that’s okay.

Haven’t played now in over a month. At this point I’m not sure what they could do to bait the hook and bring me back! Here’s some suggestions for you bungie if you are listening (although with the player engagement team dismissed I highly doubt it). Bring back strike specific loot with low drop chance unique items themed around that strikes boss (as per D1) Remove battlegrounds from strike playlist and replace with legacy strikes like Archon priest etc. Reintroduce presently unobtainable ornaments and armor sets and gave us unique ways to earn them - I.e trials of the nine ornaments, crown of sorrows raid set, scourge of the past, etc. Give us some amazing looking armor sets like Age of triumphs from D1 - the VoG set was one of my particular faves. Restore some sense of power fantasy to the game. Make our exotic loot meaningful - I have a vault full of items that have been nerfed into non existence at this point. Lastly I would suggest you need to stop listening to the top 10% of the playerbase and cast your net wider for inspiration. If making changes that make the game easier for the PC warriors but benefit for the greater good go for it - after all what have you got to lose at this point??

Edited by Franco-Nevada: 8/13/2024 9:00:06 AMI somewhat agree with you. Got excited today when I heard about exotic class items. Then I watched a walk through. Jeezus H Christ. Who has time for that? The ratio in the comment section said it all-->no one. And they wonder why player counts are plummeting?

What happened to hardware!?!?! Now I have to crawl to 700 k's.

I'm a D2 streamer, I also got no reason to play the game as of right now. I have everything one could possibly want in this game. It's boring AF as of right now.

3 RepliesI did a lot solo. For example, the complete Khvostov 7G-06 (exotic) quest line. But I found it more frustrating than rewarding, like before. And a friend, a sherpa, who has every seal, said basically the same. I miss a form of facility that the game once had. The Pale Heart has become boring, and I reduced my playtime drastically. I could participate in the new raid as a trainee, learning the mechanics, one after another, not being dragged, but my motivation is gone. Seriously, I had more fun with Lightfall, I wanted to do more. I think Bungie damaged themselves monumentally over the years with their strategies. And that has also had an impact on their customers - on the incentive.

1 ReplyYep. Casuals beware. D2 is going elitist.

2 RepliesEdited by IamTheBeast1: 8/12/2024 8:49:44 PMI left when TFS dropped because I wasn’t going to waste more money on a crap expansion. I keep checking in trying to find a reason to play again but it’s just more and more self implosion of the game with nerfs and crap design decisions. I really want to come back because I loved the game but all I see is stuff getting nerfed and content getting harder. If I wanted to play Dark Souls, I’d play Dark Souls. Everything just seems like too much work and not enough play anymore. I was definitely not “casual” and was tackling high level stuff before Lightfall. That was the start of the decline for me.

2 RepliesMy main complaint is the raid. What a nightmare for lfg. I have a clan that runs it often, but I love meeting new people and learning. This raid is not friendly for anyone outside of a team that plays together regularly.

I agree.

1 ReplyWarhammer Space Marine 2 comes out in a month

This has to be satire, you get showered in loot for logging on, 1 seasonal run showers you in red borders. So sick of the difficulty complaint crutch. Its near impossible to die unless you try to. 90 percent of the game is a cake walk, if you are referring to gms and raids I don't know what to tell you other than its meant to be hard even though with some simple build crafting they can be steam rolled to.

26 RepliesDon't play anymore then, it's an easy solution.

An you'll blame content creators for Bungie's bad decisions? How does Parson's feet taste?
