Sad bit is bungie is fully aware the difficulty increase killed the playerbase off since lightfall, since bungies way of difficulty is ohk behind cover or some bs attack that shoots through walls or tedious immune phases etc lol I'm positive that this dlc was made for sherpas,ex bungie employees and sweats to make as much money of it as possible like a goodwill send off for the streamers and creators of d2 ,I just cannot see from a business point of view why they would only cater to the minority, a minority I might add that arnt even enough players to keep the game off life support but they have just stuck to there guns kept difficulty high and watched the flames get higher, it's obv they don't care anymore or too proud to admit that there majority of players arnt sweats

Agreed. They are catering the game to the "hardcore" intentionally. They've written off the "casuals" (AKA normal well-adjusted human beings). Bungie doesn't have the resources to do anything about the new player experience. Sony could help with this but I'm not sure they want to invest any further in D2, and it's hard to blame them. They've made the calculation, that they need to increase the grind for hardcore players and pretty much write everyone else off. That last remaining group will provide some income buying seasons & dungeon keys & Eververse items to show off. Sad to say, they're probably not wrong to follow this strategy. The hardcore will go down with the ship yelling at a handful of filthy casuals - proud of themselves for being the bestest most loyal Destiny players of them all.

  • I really do wonder if bungie were to revert some of these difficulty settings would people come back?

  • Most likely, but for me it would have to involve a public statement or vidoc explaining they over cooked the difficulty and are reducing the difficulty across the board especially in endgame activities to hopefully bring back players, that way more players would take bungie more seriously and possibly believe they are trying to get the fan base back until marathon🤔 we'll I would for one I carnt really speak for others but it carnt get worse than what it already is atm

  • I would even go so far as to say they might want to make some raids even easier, undercook them so the 80% of players who have never raided might feel inclined to run them.

  • well they made the root of nightmare raid easier to try and get people into raiding and what was the vocal response? a ton of whining by sweats and streamers. even though statistically it is one of the most completed raid in the game with more people attempting to complete it.

  • A small minor percentage of streamers and elite players whine about their accomplishment meaning nothing. Same with Deep Stone Crypt, Tons of players wanted to do that raid and still do. Bungie chose to listen to those making money off their game instead of those paying to play for fun. Those accomplishments by the streamers amount to a sweet -blam!- all at this point.

  • well they thought if they cater to the streamers that would get them more free advertisement(which is stupid but i digress) and if they cater to the sweats that play like 10 hours a day then that would boost their statistic but they failed to take into account that that approach is detrimental to the longevity of the game.

  • You would think they would understand that catering to the best players, especially in pvp means that skills below will get shunned and stop playing.. We have been seeing it for ages in both pve and pvp. Bungie seemed to not see the literal writing on the wall.
