I've been unable to transfer my PC license from Battle.net to Steam, as many users here have had issues with.
It appears this has been changed, and now there's some information on how to resolve this issue:
TRANSFER ERROR
You are attempting to transfer a Battle.net account to a Steam Account that has already been migrated.
##pcmigration.ThisSteamAccountHasAlready##
You can resolve this by:
Unlink Steam User Darkus
Create a new Steam Account
Migrate [Removed user ID] to your new Steam Account

This is insane. I don't want to have to create a blank new Steam account for one game, I've had my steam for years and never had an issue like this for any other game.
This is NOT an acceptable fix.
If this cannot be fixed, how shall I go about refunding my ingame purchases and Forsaken license that is no longer available for me from Battle.net? Not to mention my Shadowkeep preorder on my EXISTING steam account?
Edit: As a follow-up, I would just like to point out the promises that were made that the BungieHelp twitter would indicate any progress was also false. There was no announcement about this change.
I have 3 days left until the Steam refund window closes, I'm not going to risk my preorder money waiting any longer then this.

Hello Dark. Thanks for reaching out to us for information. Our records show that your currently linked Battle.net account hasn't been migrated yet, but your Steam account has. It appears the Battle.net account that migrated to your Steam account was Lupi#1461. This information should have been shown to you during the migration process. Unfortunately, once a platform account has been migrated, it's not possible to migrate with that account again, so you will need to create a new Steam account and link it to your Bungie profile to perform PC migration.

Me: Um, yes, hello, I ordered a copy of Destiny 2 and some DLC from your old office, and it was supposed to be shipped to my home address... but it never arrived. All my receipts are there on your website so, um, can I get my game? (On-hold Muzak plays for over a week) Bungie: You still there? OK, yeah... you'll have to move to a new house.
-
I just refunded. This is not a fix and needs to be addressed in tomorrow's TWAB.
-
I've made a new steam account, I don't have that many friends/games on steam anyway so I don't have much to lose. For me it worked, It doesn't show on my bungie.net account at all, which scared me when I've done it but when I started up the game everything was there. Refunded SK on my main steam account and bought it on a new one, I have no problems anymore, I'm enjoying the game now but.... this is not the way to go. Most people have been waiting or are still waiting on a fix or they refunded it. It's crazy that people need to go to such lengths to actually play the game or not at all and leave Bungie behind. Bungie this is unacceptable , you guys should've been looking for an official fix for this and just saying that you need to make a new steam account is just stupid, if you guys at bungie don't know this, it's not a fix, it's a way around the actual problem. Anyway, I'm sorry for all the people who have refunded the game or still waiting for a fix. I'm family sharing my steam accounts, it's not a big deal for me but I can imagine for some people it is and they're absolutely right.
-
You echoed my sentiment PERFECTLY! I've tried for the last week to migrate, only to see "yourcmigration was successful!" Only to have NOTHING on my steam account, which I've had for 10+ years. Then today, when I do WHAT WAS RECCOMENDED by the "bungie help team" and retry my migration, it said ive already been linked to an existing account and need to start a new steam account. I only have one steam account! After a week, how could I have today, somehow, logged into another and linked it to a diff account?! This is unacceptable, and wrong. And us, the people directly affected by some unknown issue, are the ones being looked at as the horrible people in all this. Lol its insane
-
Refunded. I know us small minority dont matter to @bungie bottom line, but I've seen enough to know that the fix for them is to just start over or move on. Thanks for all the assistance, Bungie. After 5 years, I'm done.
-
I had to request a refund. This is a joke of an answer to the problem.
-
I'm getting the same thing now. Is this how this is going to end? Bungie decided the only fix they could come up with after 9 days is us being forced to make new Steam accounts? I'm not going to make a new Steam account, I've had this Steam account for well over a decade. It would be ridiculous to create a separate account for 1 game. I can't believe they're actually sweeping this under the rug rather than coming out in the open and talking about this issue. I'm done Bungie, and I imagine a lot of others are too. This will be my last Bungie game, I've never been treated this badly by any company, be it a game developer or otherwise.
-
I'm e-mailing several gaming news websites a full description and play by play of how this issue has panned out over the last 9 days, along with several links to these Bungie Help forum posts. I suggest all of you do the same as my e-mail alone is likely to be glossed over. I'm not going to post their e-mails here, but many editor-in-chiefs have their work email addresses available on the news site itself, their twitter pages, etc. This problem has not been covered at all in any sort of online media. If Bungie is going to attempt to sweep this under the rug, we need to fight back and try to raise a stink about it. If anyone else would like to make a post on Reddit be my guest, my last post on day 5 of this issue was torn apart by that toxic community, even though it did get a lot of attention.
-
It took Bungie 9 days to give us this response, it took steam 20 minutes to give my money back. Odd.
-
I've just requested a refund through Steam. This is completely ridiculous. I can't support a company that doesn't give a crap about it's loyal customers. I've lost a lot of my purchases, DLCs, and season passes over this. Too bad I can't get any of that money back.
-
This should work, however it didn't. At least not for me, even though I did this my new steam account does register that I have migrated over to it. Both the Bungie website and my actual steam acc says I did. But the game doesn't think so. I literally am unable to play destiny two at this point and i'm close to requesting a refund on a game I have over 100 hours on. Am pretty disappointed
-
im having the same issue. and just now im finding that other people are having it too after an hour of attempting to fix it, an hour that unlike shadowkeep bungie cannot refund. but that one hour is also a drop in the bucket in contrast to all the hoops ive been jumping through just to be able to play the game i paid for.
-
I am having the exactly same issue. This does not feel like a step in the right direction. Especially after they were more than happy to do a transfer just a couple days ago missing my characters and one of my DLC. I would like a way to fix this or a proper explanation of how this got all jumbled up. Asking us to create an entirely new Steam account just for their game is beyond ridiculous.
-
No Bungie, I refuse to start an entirely new steam account just to play Destiny 2. Requesting refund for Shadowkeep now and never looking back. This isn't a fix, it's just a workaround since you guys are having a hard time figuring out why some of us have faux transfers to our steam accounts which have 0 licenses or characters transferred. If we had steam accounts that had previous transfers we wouldn't be having an issue at all.
-
Well, for better or for worse, the solution worked for me. Seems like a poor bandaid to broken promise. As I previously stated in another thread, if Bungie would be more open and communicative about issues such as these, they could have avoided a great deal of ill will. An apology or some attempt to make it right would be a small step in the right direction. See you all on the moon. Eyes up, guardians.
-
Same thing popped up for me. I was sort of excited once it seemed like they were working on it, just to find out about this. If this is their final answer to this, then my final choice is to not proceed.
You are attempting to transfer a Battle.net account to a Steam Account that has already been migrated.
this appears to say that your steam account has already had a battlenet account migrated to it. As in Battlenet A was migrated to Steam A and now you are trying to migrate Battlenet B to Steam A. That is why it wants a new one. -
Bungie should issue an update to let us know what's going on. First they said they're working on a fix. Now they're saying we need to make a new steam account just for Destiny 2 (which is ludicrous). Is this issue going to be fixed or not? Can we get an official response from Bungie on this?

Somehow last night I have managed to get my hunter transferred. I had decided last night to create a second steam account and just bite the bullet. It turns out I didn’t need to do that. Here is what I did, hopefully it works for you: 1. In my steam client I enabled family management (settings). 2. Logged out of steam client. 3. Unlinked steam in my Bungie preferences. 4. Logged out of Bungie website 5. Logged into battle.Net and selected “migrate licenses” under destiny 2. 6. Logged into Bungie using my battle.net info. 7. Went to the pcmove part of the site 8. Linked my steam account (my original account) 9. It gave me some weird error message but claimed it worked. 10. Re logged into my steam client and fired up destiny 2. 11. My hunter and licenses were all there! So surprised. 12. I rebooted windows Cause I could hardly believe it (and because of Windows updates) Not sure if the steam client logout did it or something to do with the family game sharing tool.......

I'm having same Issue. Before trying at the beginning of the week I have deffently not migrated my steam one instead of my battle net. Pretty much doing what everyone else has been doing.. Waiting..... Just to find out you have changed it to it's our fualts? Yeah. alright. So you want a lot of people to make a new steam? that i guess many of us have had for many many years. To play a game we have put a lot of effort and years into Because some how your shit glitched and migrated it for us while in the error fase of trying to link our battnet accounts. but opps you linked the steam one instead ( some not even the right steam accounts? ) and opps.. I really do envy how easy it must be at the drawing board for you people. "Shit Dave this -blam!-ed up big time what do we do? We should really try and help these customers of ours"... Dave Sits there eating crayons.. "We should make them all make new steam accounts that will fix our error" "Good idea Dave!" * Gets a raise* -_-

Bungie are now literally ignoring people with this problem. Way to support your fanbase, Bungie -.-

Edited by Roboducc: 10/10/2019 8:58:07 PMI pretty much got the same response when trying to migrate my account once again, although mine said that I can apparently ''resolve'' this by going to pc migration and ''log into my blizzard account'' (pic for refrence: https://imgur.com/1wWiW5N ). Which will 100% not do anything since I've tried that every day for like, 7 days. Dunno if I should try to proceed and press the ''accept'' button in game (I still have the ''cross save ready?'' message when I start D2, since I'm afraid that I will actually lose everything if I press ''accept''), because that message look really sketchy if you ask me.

Edited by TchaikovskiMk2: 10/10/2019 11:34:18 AMCan't believe that's all the technical support they can provide. Honestly, after tracking the whole event of Bungie handing this problem, they act like a low-end studio. It has never been mentioned on the migration website that one account can only migrate/ be migrated once and in the last few days they have told you they were "investigating" it like this should be something abnormal. But now they say:well, you can't migrate with your migrated account and that's not our problem so don't blame on us. Seriously? So what the heck are you guys investigating at? Admit it,you guys just don't want to solve this problem. Otherwise it has been pointed out in Bungie Help twitter. Won't buy Forsaken and Shadowkeep until my characters appear in my primary steam account.

Day 8: New transfer error Unfortunately??? This is unacceptable... I only have one account for steam and one for battle.net. This isn't a fix. I won't be switching accounts from accounts to just play this game, If this the only solution thank you for nothing. Be sure bad reviews will come and I'm not gonna waste time doing everything again. Better uninstall forever. Thanks but no thanks. New transfer error??????? https://imgur.com/a/cEwlMiI

I am not trying to rile up issues, but I am currently trying to get a refund on my Forsaken Licence from Bnet because their only response is I linked the wrong steam account, which I have proof is wrong. I don't want to start a boycott or anything, but I'd say cancel your preorder. Get your money back while you can.
