Hey Bungie,
So while I am opposed to paid DLCs + microtransactions model, I believe it should be one or the other, I have to wonder where your head's at... You lock away stuff behind a Silver wall, yet make it not possible to buy Silver in Japan, effectively locking away an entire country from reaping any sort of albeit cosmetic benefits...
Can you please give us another option? This is seriously ridiculous...

I live overseas in Japan, and I can buy silver no problem

Had no idea but that blows. It's one thing not wanting to pay for content but it's completely different not being able to pay for this content.

Alright, let's attach some more information for those kind enough to notice this. Currently, tl;dr version is, that Japan has a funny way of dealing with microtransactions. Very basically said, it requires the company that sold the in-game currency to keep the money in Japan, until the person spends it. Which is of course enough to force bungie out of the silver market in Japan. as platinum in Warframe, as anything else. The thing is, there is always ways around things. There's nothing preventing Bungie from going: 'Hey guys, we realize you're not happy about Silver not being available in Japan. it's because <these and these laws>, that would prevent us to utilize the money from the microtransactions. Thus we decided that for Japanese accounts, we will make Silver degradable after one week. That will allow you to buy any silver you want and spend it right away, and if you don't, since it will degrade (or give some sort of a compensation for the lost amount in terms of other Destiny trinkets), for japanese laws, it will count as used, and will thus allow us to use the profits from the silver purchases to make this game that much better. We will also add more options for the amounts you can buy, in case you want to buy just one item but would be left with more silver. We hope this will ease some of your frustration.' There's literally nothing, that can't be achieved with honest and explanatory conversation...

If you do quests then you can get quite a few quests, also each character can get one treasure of the lost by finishing quests as well. It is not perfect, but there does not seem to be any other option.

I read this in a Japanese accent.

If you cannot get Silver in Japan, I guarantee it isn't Bungie's fault, why would they not want money from players in Japan.

Is video game gambling illegal in Japan? It is in some countries... Technically, buying an in game currency in exchange for non-guaranteed items is gambling. It may be illegal.

Guess this is what we can expect from Bungie from now on. Events that were supposed to be paid for by micro transactions, designed to make us pay more micro transactions, this festival is not for the players enjoyment, or to celebrate the holiday, it's so Bungie can make more money, period 💰💰💰💰💰🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑👍🏻

Last Festival of the Lost I remember getting a bunch of blue mask and deciding which one to keep if you didn't want to pay money... this new model sucks.
