Is video game gambling illegal in Japan?
It is in some countries...
Technically, buying an in game currency in exchange for non-guaranteed items is gambling.
It may be illegal.

I see what you mean, though it isn't. Bungie has their reasons to make that model unavailable to Japan, since Japan's rules are a bit strict in that sense, but there are always ways around that. Bungie just chooses to ignore them.

I wasn't certain. I know it at least used to be in some European countries. Idk if that still is the case or not.
