I am continuously disconnected from destiny 2 and now banned. I DON'T DISCONNECT EVER!! i haven't done any Ddosing AT ALL...didn't know what it was until the other night. I live up on a mountain on an island out in the middle of nowhere and have bad WIFI....this isn't my fault. I would like to have the ban lifted!
I am continuously disconnected from destiny 2 and now banned.
Connection is a crucial bit to look over when gaming, especially if there is any form of competition.
I DON'T DISCONNECT EVER!!
But in your last sentence, you said you have been disconnecting...this is now confusing...
i haven't done any Ddosing AT ALL...didn't know what it was until the other night.
Well that's good! No one likes being DDOS'ed. As long as you know what it means, and do not attempt doing this to others, you're good.
I live up on a mountain on an island out in the middle of nowhere and have bad WIFI....this isn't my fault.
Time out. You live somewhere that can be described as remote, in the middle of nowhere, as you say. You are also on Wifi. That is a recipe for disaster. If players cannot connect to you, nor can you maintain connection to Destiny. The responsibility falls on you, not Bungie, and not the other players. Advice: Get an ethernet cable, and do a hardwire connection. If not that, then a powerline adapter. Technology is well off to allow for better connections compared to Wifi. This also allows a better experience on your end too.
I would like to have the ban lifted!
To my knowledge, I don't think Bungie lifts bans....ever. You're SoL on that I believe. No matter how much you post here. Might want to see what a Mod or Ninja says on that.
No clue if this is bait or not, but if so...well played. You got me. I can only hope some of this info helps.
Your fault for having bad internet
-
Bad internet connection is a reportable offense
-
Dont use wifi. Wired connection is a must for this game.
-
It is your fault. Glad to see Bungie's policy working as intended.
I live up on a mountain on an island out in the middle of nowhere and have bad WIFI
This sentence right here is a prime example of the biggest problem with online gaming: Ignorance. Thats not an insult to you exactly, for you the word innocence might be more fitting. So do you mean "bad Wifi"? Or do you mean bad Internet in general? You don't really need a lot of bandwidth to play online games (Destiny hits a max of around 700kbps, thats less than one meg) but you do need stability. The location you describe does not sound optimal but it doesn't mean it won't work. The location is not your fault. However if you're connecting via Wifi then thats a choice you've made and a bad one. Get an ethernet cable, it might not fix the issue but you have to do whats within your power to optimise your connection. Its your responsibility. You should also call your ISP and see if theres anything they can do. But as the other guys have said, if you know you have an unstable internet connection and are choosing to take it online where it can effect other players then you are the problem. Like a race car thats leaking oil, keep it off the track.

Your WiFi connection (which you should avoid using since WiFi is notoriously spotty) is your responsibility. If it isn't of sufficient quality you can be punished. Your ban won't be lifted. Bungie will not discuss this issue with you.

Good, you're ruining the experience for others.

Edytowany przez użytkownika GrundleBeans: 5/22/2019 2:19:42 AMIf you're referring to a SUSPENSION, suspensions are only 30 mins for your first offense and 60 mins after that.
I live up on a mountain on an island out in the middle of nowhere and have bad WIFI...
It is your fault if you're disconnecting, because as you said, you're in the middle of nowhere "and have bad wifi", which is causing a bad experience for all other players you come up against. They have these punishments in place to prevent further disruptions to other players when a single player is causing problems. Players are responsible for maintaining a minimum stable connection and you are clearly not meeting those requirements to play if you are disconnecting. If this is your first RESTRICTION, you won't be able to play any PvP activities for 2 weeks. You have that time to do whatever you can to improve your connection quality, such as using a wired cable to your router instead of wifi. If you can't do anything to improve your connection, you'll face a possible 2 month restriction after the first is lifted if you attempt to play more PvP. I would suggest that if you can't ensure an improved connection that is stable, you should avoid all PvP activities.

Per your own post, it is your fault.

Yeah I'd sort your connection out first. And speed is very little to do with your connection quality before you start that. You need to ditch wireless if you're using it. You need to assign your console or pc a static ip on your routing table. You need to open ports for xbox live / psn / blizzard to that ip. Then start looking at if your network is being throttled by other traffic, another device downloading, streaming 4k etc. Do the first and you'll be good if you don't have total potato internet or McDonald's WiFi or something.

Go cable ..

If you live in a rural area and are on WiFi, unfortunately the issue is on your end, not Bungies. It’s 2019 and people still don’t know how the internet works. Sorry, I’m sure it must be frustrating but this one isn’t on Bungie

Ethernet cables are not expensive, go wired !
