Go ahead and see for yourself; put bomber on your class item, put a slower charging grenade on (vortex, solar, etc) Use said grenade, then proc bomber….. now squint and try to see if you can see the mod even working. This goes for all ability centered mods in the game right now kickstarts included.
I have lost a lot of motivation to play and lead my clan this season. I thought the sand box was in a pretty good place before this patch, (aside from strand titan maybe needing toned down a bit) and I consider my opinions on this to be informed just look at my raid report I do a lot of sweaty pve and casual stuff alike.

Yeah the ability uptime nerfs feel absolutely terrible overall. Awful change

There's a 70/30 chance Bungie will wait until the outrage is bad enough to revert some of the changes, then make a post like "Due to a bug, we realized abilities were charging slower than intended..." or, the playerbase will plummet again and Bungie will say "we missed the mark..." One of those 2 scenarios ALWAYS happens.

this is what streamers/youtubers where saying they wanted, they hated using ability's... said they wanted more gun play... well i'm sorry guys, gunplay is not fun when it takes 4 seconds to kill a red bar.

This is classic Bungie mind games. They'll take away abilities... and then give them back in Final Shape so we all go, wow, this game is so fun.

I’m creating orbs constantly on my Strand/Suspend build with Thorn/Grips. I notice zero difference because the build doesn’t crutch on Fire Power and grenade spamming. Tomorrow I’m going to play around with Solar/Verity build. I bet between the demo/incandescent crafted Battler and grenade kick start, bomber etc I’ll have the juiced grenade up constantly. There’s always ways to make builds work if you are using a multitude of ways to create ability energy and orbs. We have killer weapons. It’s time we start using them in conjunction with our abilities.

All my ability based builds have been killed basically. Nothing makes me wanna play a space magic game like the devs killing the space magic. 🥲 Bye bye threadlings build Bye bye stasis turret build They will be missed the most. I loved using them in pve.

None of my builds were noticeably affected bar the hammer bonk titan...What build do you feel like changed so dramatically? Arc warlock, sunbracer, briars - all the same BOW titan - same if not better with wormgods A.cowl hunter - same

I can't say I've noticed too much on my contraverse hold build but it's definitely there. You feel it more when you misthrow a nade and only catch half as many red bars.

My builds have stayed the same, maybe optimize? Only thing that really got hit hard was stasis shards giving less melee, everything else is barely different

I think in most content theses nerfs are not gonna be really noticeable for a lot of people but in gms I am not looking forward to playing them in a really boring way again

Been said many times already . But Bungie does this to dog out a season so they can do less work for the upcoming season, in this case the final shape. If they dont they have no place to go for the wow factor . However this time they did go a little heavy duty on the nerfs.

Now for PvP specifically, I don’t mind the changes, but it doesn’t do anything in pve to make content more engaging.

This is your yearly DLC promotion nerf, why does anyone act like "balancing" in d2 is meant to make the game better is just beyond me, the season before a DLC is always intentionally garbage

I have not noticed on my builds honestly. My void titan is still spamming nades etc.. But with the new perk added to weapons, I can see why they adjusted it. But I am sure some builds got affected by the adjustments. To note, kinetic tremors is awesome now combined with the side arm barrier.

Yep, kickstart and bomber are worthless. Vortex nades, with worthless mods and fewer orbs, don't feel real viable anymore without 100 discipline... not worth it.

Honestly ran my load out I haven’t changed since last season and everything in my solar build charged up very quickly. Sunspots definitely died faster but that’s about it. Even in crucible I don’t notice a change really.

Yup, my Contraverse Hold Build warlock takes longer to grenade recharge now.. Typically, I'd throw Vortex out and 1 elite would recharge it.. Now it doesn't. I threw it at a group of Thrall and 1 knight.. each kill did like no recharge.. hardly got it back.
