These mods only further amplify an issue introduced with holders tbh. Nobody uses them because there is no room on armor to support the sheer energy cost and their inferiority over scav mods.
It’s going to be the same here, nobody wants to remove finders since they are just too superior. If the mod worked for all guns then maybe but they will only work for specific elements which is even worse since MAX 2 guns will make orbs.
Although the artefact change is good, it’s another 1 step forward and 2 steps back with the orb nerf…

This has me so disappointed I’m thinking until they fix it I’ll not play anymore which could be never . It’s taking up real estate we need for other mods like ammo scav . I can not believe they think we would be happy about needing a different helmet for every element if you want to make orbs of power with that element WTF were they thinking ? All those weapons that I ground for hours & hours to master work was for nothing & I’m extremely pissed . At this point if I could get a refund I’d absolutely take it & be done with the game .

I must admit this is the most brain dead asinine thing they have ever thought to implement. And let’s be honest the whole we have a good reason for doing this line is old and tired. It’s childish and not at all how you communicate with your player base. And the reason you so called have will in no way make this change reasonable or acceptable. You claim you want us to play how we want but it feels like that box is getting smaller and the box were you Tell us how to play is getting bigger. Ever chance you get you make us weaker and slower and and man it’s exhausting.

They are not solving the issue, they are just creating new issues that will take a 1 year plus to fix.

They do explain a reason they are doing this is weapon crafting. Legendary weapons will likely become more expendable as we work our way thru that system. They don't change anything everyone just complains that masterwork is too expensive, we don't have enough materials, why don't all exotics have cats for orbs, etc. Now all people can complain about is having to make a choice in mod slots instead of just equipping one go to.

This isn't a troll question; why does this change hurt the game? I've found orbs to be mostly irrelevant except in trials where everyone is measuring every grain of sand for super generation. Seems like there are other things to be upset with that have a much higher return on investment.

I think weapon crafting will allow us the ability to create/add a perk (perhaps passive or intrinsic) for orb generation. The helmet mods will be the method for legacy or non-crafted weapons to generate them. If that happens it will further downgrade non-crafted weapons. This may be their answer to vault space. In time all legacy weapons will be replaced by ones we create with maybe a few exceptions here and there.

I don't think it will make a massive difference in most gameplay but it is really unnecessary. The artifact change is good, and the armor affinity change is great, EXCEPT for one major flaw: We just got to the point where making armor sets has been easier than ever given how you can automatically swap gear using DIM. The problem with this change is that if let's say you have a piece of gear used in 2 different sets with 2 different affinities, DIM will not automatically change the affinity because it costs materials, this makes it incredibly non-user friendly. I'd like to see them address this prior to Witch Queen.

Armour mods should be about allowing players to customize their Guardians and make builds to power up their playstyles. Adding mandatory mods goes against whole concept. If something is must have, make it baseline. When they keep adding Ammo Finders, Scavengers, Anti-Champion mods, and now Orbs - the current mod-system is stretching real tight.

Yea I don't know why they dont just make it to where either all exotic weapons create orbs or the ones without the ability to be masterworked automatically create orbs (so the only time an exotic wouldn't make orbs is if it has a masterwork but hasn't been masterworked).

I created a post myself but late. This is what the TWAB should have read: All masterworked weapons will continue to make orbs as they always have, but if you chose to use an Exotic without a catalyst you can choose to use an armor mod of that damage type to make orbs with that particular Exotic. That's all they had to do. Guess we'll just have to wait and see unless they realize beforehand how badly they screwed up.

The change won't do anything. If it's cwl, then wells activate them more efficiently. Super generation isn't going to hurt either because super orbs are better and with the last patch damage and kills both giving super energy is a lot more useful than the mw multi kill orbs. The fact that mk orbs are being added as a mod is more of a buff to exotics without catalysts

Can anything really hurt the game any more now!?! It's already nothing more than a pathetic, lazy, lacking in quality, greed-ridden dress-sim pile of garbage. I mean, it's so pathetic, turning D2 off for good would be an improvement.

Personally, I don't care at this point. They will do whatever they feel is necessary with the game. I used to care when this game was the only thing I played for long term investment.... Not anymore.... As long as I'm able to still get orbs somehow, It will be fine. Hopefully the crafting will be good though. If not? Fuq it.

I say yes it would be completely dumb if they would have made this change during this current state of the game . That to is changing as is the current combat style, moments like these are why i keep playing this game from , expansion after expansion, and to season after season. The Revolution of millions of people coming together with a common interest. It is something truly great to be a part of. D1D1 Gauradian Here. Thank you Bungie for making the perfect game for ME.

Bungie did the right thing (for them). Now everyone talk about the orbs, forgetting about all the real issues, like insane and ever growing lag, broken respawn algorithm, stupid lobby balancing, rampant cheating, and so on.

Stupid thing is you shouldn't need ammo finders or scavenger mods for a shooter it's bit wierd, then the orb nerf looks like for content that locks ur gear u can't swap looks like arbalist mayb best in slot for all?
