Whether something comes up, a player doesn't like the random strike selected, forgot to drop before the loading screen, or who knows what else - people drop out of strikes regularly. That said, my expectation is that the matchmaking system will replace them and bring our fireteam back up to 3 members as fast as possible. Currently, the system is not doing this. I ran 10-20 strikes this past weekend with a fireteam friend. More than half of those strikes, our third, matchmade member would drop at the start of the strike for whatever the reason. After that we would finish the whole strike and not get a replacement until the next strike. During which the new member likely dropped when it wasn't the strike he/she desired to run. I ran some alone as well and upon struggling with a boss for an attempt or two, members bailed and I was left staring at the boss alone for 10 minutes before I gave up on any cavalry showing up and had to sacrifice my time invested as well as my strike loot bonus.
This is all the more of an issue due to that strike streak. People leave left and right and being left to 2 man or solo an instance rather than give up the loot buff and re-que is not an ideal workaround. In all the strikes that I was missing a member so far in the last week, I've had 1 strike find a replacement and it took 20 minutes (enough time for the two of us to clear to the boss) before we got said replacement.
I feel like the fact that a replacement was found 1 time after a 20 minute wait suggests the system wants to replace missing members - so I feel like the fact that it regularly doesn't, and even when it does takes forever, is something that should be looked at!

Making people who voluntarily leave strikes should have a cool down timer of ten minutes would be interesting
-
I assume this is intentional by Bungievision to force the player to have a hard time completing the strike without a full team, increasing your playtime and therefore the grind, as well as to prevent any lucky player from randomly getting matchmade into a strike that's almost completed for easy rewards.
-
I couldn't find anyone yesterday, had to do the entire strike on my own because matchmaking can't seem to find anyone.

Edited by Kweh: 9/23/2015 10:55:39 PMI'd assume the divided player base is contributing. this is the first time there is a huge difference between players and the season pass pre order hype train is gone.

Edited by EdAlRiverS: 9/24/2015 1:37:51 PMMatchmaking (requires the taken king) It will match with one player for a limited time, if you want another one you gotta throw money at the screen bro!
-
Because NO ONE is playing!!!! LOL
-
Fewer people are playing. I'm sure Bungie has this data but they won't be sharing it anytime soon.
-
I'm experiencing the same problem. Also something that has been going on for a while that Bungie refuses to or doesn't know how to fix.
-
too few people continuing to play, not a lot of people playing on your system or the same time as you, these can all be factors
-
Probably because a lot of people are not playing anymore cause of this BS... https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=Z_LE7HXLlDo
-
Yeah it rarely rematched for me
-
everytime its a longer strike you see one or two people instantly pop out there ghost and leave and if its a shorter strike they jump on the sparrow blast to the end kill themselves and force everyone else to skip the whole strike awesome job bungie you see the same people doing it all the time and once they insta quit you cant report them if there not in the match gotta the games become the equivalent to an instant scratch off lottery ticket to 90 percent of the player base they just want to rush to open engrams and rewards and skip any content that's what you get for making a rated everyone game dumbed down to the point its a gambling sim now with a touch of reload your wepon every two seconds thrown in to keep you awake
-
Yea this is annoying I sat on saber 2 over an hour by myself, same with dying mind. This is very annoying considering soloing these heroic strikes is just as difficult as nightfall if not worse.
-
I've noticed this too. Its really hit or miss on whether you're gonna get backup after someone bails.
-
Good match making sucks it ruined solo weekly
-
-
Bump.
-
I've experienced the same thing in both pre and post TTK. I don't know if it's my imagination, but it seems like the game adjusts the adds and add spawns amount as players leave and arrive. What do you think?
Matchmaking is hardly ever filling empty slots for strike playlist teams
The problem could be the matchmaking system. Or the problem could be the player population. The Taken King does divide up the player base, and perhaps there are more non-DLC paying players than most of realize. Hopefully the problem is with the matchmaking system.
-
More people are realizing matchmaking is useless and using fire teams instead.
-
This should be a priority for Bungie. I was lucky once and only had to wait 5 minutes to get new teammates after my team left due to failing to beat the Restorative Mind. However that has been the exception. If Bungie is going to reward us for sticking with the strike playlist, they need to get a lot better and faster about replacing dropped teammates.

Edited by Bowaline: 9/23/2015 3:53:50 PMJust understand this game still has major flaws and I'm -blam!-ing pissed to find that out. But I should have expected it, these half word have been -blam!-ing up for a year now just barely making the minimum content look really good. Gotta hand it to their marketing department they know how to make a trailer, now if the company could figure out how to make a -blam!-ing game....

This happens to me on a literal daily basis. I am dumped into a Strike solo, and it's usually between ten to twenty minutes before other Guardians finally decide to come on in. If they leave midway through, I usually have to finish the strike by myself. And with Heroic, on S.A.B.E.R-2, that is not fun.
-
Me either I went back later and it was working again
-
Bump! This is annoying when in heroic strikes and you have to finish with two people. Sometimes it even starts me in strikes where i'm by myself even. Lol
-
Same iasue. Had to solo some.
