When Void does everything better.
Pound for pound Void is simply better in design, survival ability, power fantasy, and fun. Void does everything better from endgame PVE to PVP.
Arc does none of this. Nades are not as good, Ionic traces are not as good as devour, and both supers are awful.
Solar marginally better but is a one trick pony. Stasis is a close second to Void and is better all around than Arc/solar but the king is still Void.
I don't understand how Bungie got it right with Warlock Void and so wrong with Arc??????? (Arc hunters and Titans are really good)

Been only running arc warlock It add clears beautifully
-
Yes there is

2 RepliesEver tried a blinding build with coldheart and the new warlock exotic helmet, lots of fun and provides good crowd control.
-
1 ReplyChaos reach is absolutely horrid with out the geomags in pve
-
They can make an entirely new super for hunters buff blink for them and address there issues but warlock no
-
It definitely lacks survivability options, but I'm enjoying having amplified on demand with getaway artistvin casual and seasonal content. Just needs a little something more for survivability in tougher content, and I haven't found the right solution yet. Hopefully there is something out there I haven't though of yet
-
I don't know, storm grenades are pretty overpowered. And arc souls are nice to have too.
-
13 RepliesSounds like a personal play style issue. Not a sandbox one.
-
FYI, it's survivability, not "survive ability"
-
1 ReplyI haven’t played arc in anything other than patrols and seasonal content. My guess is that the season will be mostly over before anything is done about the resil glitch. Because my artifice armor I grinded for is still not fixed and we have no idea when the extra slot will be fixed. If ever.

I hate how anemic Anything but Void Lock feels.
-
10 RepliesI suppose if all you care about is what's statistically the best then sure, but some of us play for fun or for how things feel.
-
I typically try to see the positives of each subclass rework but I tend to agree. Maybe it’s the resilience glitch or maybe it’s the weak supers but I feel like void/solar have that extra edge. I haven’t unlocked all the artifact mods yet so maybe they will help but when I’m running high end content, arc is last on the list of viable options for me and that speaks volumes.
-
2 RepliesI remember last season a bunch of people posting how bad solar was. Maybe give it some time for synergies to be explored.
-
1 ReplyFor me arc doesn't have very good survivability compared to other classes. Crucible is a different story but in PVE survivability is more difficult. I'm cool with arc being similar to glass cannons but not all arc classes fit this. If anyone is having good survivability in master content with arc please let me know what is working for you and on which class.

i would take Warlock Arc 2.0 over what we have now
-
1 ReplyStasis is a close second? Maybe in pve..for the life of me I can understand why I don't see more stasis in PvP. It's still the best option hands down. I do love me some Voidlock tho
-
4 RepliesI want to play arc titan/warlock but the resilliance bug prevents me from using it. Arc Warlock can be powerfull if you build it right. You can get unlimited abillity spam, friend of mine runs that during kf. (He dies alot because hes squishy because of the bug).
-
I disagree. Once every three weeks you’ll need it for strikes. That’s only until you don’t need that pinnacle anymore.

sorry i gotta say it, solar well lock with starfire and fusions is still the best DPS. No cap..... Arc warlocks melee teleportation in pvp is nutty as hell. Warlocks are the "support class" in most situations. Warlocks are about their neutral game and space magic. That being said their abilities like nades and melees should be strong for those situations. Their supers are kind of lack luster in their own ways but their abilities in the neutral game are the best tbh. If we talk about DPS for the titan and the hunter on their respective arc classes they have to proc their supers and go through their animation taking time away from firing their weapons, so to make up for that those supers are a bit stronger. In that time that they are doing those animations a skilled warlock could have thrown 3 nades and shot 5 rounds of reeds into oryx. Which one is doing the most at that point? Im not saying that one class is superior to another, each character has their positions and roles. Its how you play them in the end. Everyone can put up hella numbers on the board no matter the class. Arc just came out and im sure that they are aware of certain things that require buffs and nerfs. Just let them do their thing and start looking at new builds in the mean time. You can be a menace on any character. :)

But I just figured it's because my Titan is more decked out stat wise.

Use void then

Edited by Hawpy: 9/1/2022 1:44:17 AMI think Arc feels a lot better than Solar, but it suffers from the same issue of only having one build that's good in content above patrols and strikes, which is using Crown of Tempests and the relevant mods to spam Lightning Surge. Fallen Sunstar is objectively a worse Exotic and you're shoehorned into using Stormtrance as the lesser of two evils. Electrostatic Mind is a lot more useful than I'd have originally given it credit for, but Arc Soul really isn't that good and I'll never understand why people think it is. I'll continue to use it because Arc was always my favourite in D2, but you know I'm swapping to Stasis when it matters (provided I'm not being required to use Well just to have a place on the team).

1 ReplyPersonally, I find Arc Lock extremely good at ad-clear. The new melee is insanely good in both PvE and PvP. Chaos could use a buff in PvP, though. It has the second lowest damage resistance after Golden Gun and is a Tier 2.

I was hoping for more as well. That being said, I am still trying to hone in on a solid general purpose arc Warloc build. Still not quite there, but I feel like getaway artists have some good potential. Amplified on demand (without even needing to have an enemy or even an ally nearby) is REALLY nice to have as an option for everyday content. Plus having literal 100% uptime on arc soul is definitely fun. More than anything I just wish there were better survivability options. Getting the resilience bug fixed would go a long way towards this, but I do think a bit more would be warranted here

warlocks are not the damage class, stop trying to make them that
