Sounds like a personal play style issue. Not a sandbox one.

  • With the gmnf lineup we have this season & how weak warlock arc supers are nobody will be using it or in master raids. It's severely outclassed by both the void & solar 3.0 changes. Sure arc 3.0 is a ton of fun in low level activities & opening up the portals in KF or for totems, the opening as well as confluxes & oracles in vog, totems & exhibition in vow. I'm not gunna talk about dsc or last wish since there's no master difficulty setting. You won't see arc warlocks with how weak our supers are compared to how good void still is & of course well of radiance since everything is designed to be punishing lol

  • Arc has never been a end game choice for anything other that raid challenges. The update was done specifically to promote very aggressive play, which is specifically punished by the GMNF ethic which is to force you to play the game like a cover shooter. So this criticism of it “not being end game viable” make no sense. GMNFs are a content design problem. This is not a sandbox problem.

  • Do you run master raids or grandmaster nightfalls? Chaos reach has been useful in the past plenty of times so you're wrong about arc not being a viable option.

…and there is nothing stopping people from continuing to use it that way. I’m a Warlock main for 8 years running. Part of the reason why I don’t run that kind of content is because I’m sick and tired of having to run Well of Radiance and Stasis all the time. Because of the over emphasis on support, survivability and crowd control.

  • Not trying to be rude but your view of arc 3.0 is all from the perspective of a person that sits in patrols & the strike Playlist. You don't play any hard content in this game. Sure arc 3.0 is fun in low level activities but even there it's outclassed by void & solar.

No. You’re not rude. You’re just wrong. My view of arc encompasses the whole game. It doesn’t presume that the hardest content is the only part of the game that matters.

  • No it doesn't because you don't play the endgame. So you don't know how the endgame works with arc even prior to 3.0 So how could your view encompass the whole game when you don't even play the WHOLE game?

The fella has a point, you should listen to it instead of drowning it out. To me, arc warlock seems like it’s going to be very powerful in everything except contest mode raids and GMs. And even then, I’m sure you could make a blinding and jolt build that would be really good for those activities especially if you have another warlock on your team on a more supportive subclass. It’s definitely going to be my go-to warlock subclass from now on.

I do. I just don’t play it often because I find it’s approach to difficulty boring. Because it breaks the power-fantasy at the heart of the game, and reduces game play to a one-dimensional affair. Hard to feel like a legend when you’re cowering behind a box, hiding from trash mobs that one- and two-hit kill you. Some people enjoy punishing gameplay, but I don’t. Never have. Never will. Arc (other than the CR super) simply doesn’t fit into that narrow scope of play…and the super does only after the mandatory healing/support and crowd control functions have been seen to.

  • So doesn't that just prove my point that they need to be adjusted so there is more endgame viability so we aren't stuck using stasis void or solar most of the time? All subclasses should have utility in the endgame as well as putzing around in patrols or strikes etc there is no endgame utility for arc warlock right now. It's not fun using the same loadout. I know I don't have to but i like to be optimal & get things done asap. There's no incentive to run much outside of a well of radiance void or stasis. Especially in glassway those wyverns suck in there.

No. You have a vision of how it should fit in the game that is incompatible with Bungie’s. Their goal was to expand play options. Not make everything fit in the narrow confines of end game.

  • I respectfully disagree.

  • Understood. But the path that Bungie took in overhauling the class disagrees with your disagreement.
