Love the update.
The only thing I didn't like was the exotic shard change...yes it's easier now to upgrade exotics, but the thing is, 1 shard costs 7 coins...so in a week you can only upgrade 2-3 exotics if lucky and have extra coins.
Plus you now have to choose between either a weapon, armor OR exotic shard...strange coins just became worth hell of a lot more now lol
But then the shards also go for armor..not just weapons

I guess it might be different for me. I'm only missing skull fort, Titan alpha crest, lucky raspberry(mostly by choice, plenty of times to get it), dire skull, and Praxic fire. As far as weapons I only need the red death and truth. And I'm likely to use neither of them. So since Xur has been so kind has to allow me to build a house out of voidfang vestaments, my strange coins have stockpiled. I also had friends kind enough to carry my 25s through the weekly to get the most coins each week. So unless Xur actually changed his inventory to where I would lose 120 coins, I'm not too worried about 7 for a shard.

From who Xur? He's never sold dire skull and Praxic fire. Trust me.

Honestly, since Xur is the only person who takes SC and he's recycled so many times, at most I pay 23 for a weapon and some telemetries. Have everything else he's selling, and have had multiple weeks where he had nothing I wanted. This is because I play often, and run weekly three times per week for 27 SC per week plus any Nightfall SC and the ones randomly dropped from engrams. Have been at a steady 90-125 pool of SC for last couple of weeks. Now I can actually use my SC for something worthwhile when Xur has nothing good! :D

If you have 3 characters you can earn up to 27 coins in 1 week. FYI

Yea I do have 1 of each character but no I just have 2 exotic pieces for each character already and that's all I need. Trying to get raid gear for the other pieces still.

It's only one exotic shard in the last armor upgrade of the exotic. Very please with the change. Makes exotics interesting and also gives us another reason to earn coins.

If you get two to three exotics a week, you are way more lucky than I am. Lol

You misinterpreted lol I mean a lot of people have many exotics that aren't fully upgraded due to materials (like me) And it used to be go patrol here and farm for a while then once you get enough you can upgrade as many as you want until you need more. Now with the upgrade costing 7 coins...that's going to be maybe 2-3 a week. Plus you might not have enough for an armor or weapon form Xur...

You can also dismantle duplicate Exotic weapons. Not sure about you but at this point I have so many.

I had multiple Suros and invective...but dismantled last week lol All others just have a single copy...
