I agree it's not a lot, but people duck out once they get the exotic. It's not the same as a strike, gambit or crucible where you can just keep getting more and more different equipment. Once you have Vex Mytho, you got it and can just reclaim it when ever you want.
One person got it on their third run and then simply refused to do VoG anymore. The issue is, once that magic is gone, no one wants to participate anymore. Leaving many people behind because...well...screw them I guess?
A side note: the friend I am talking about, we are apart of a clan of at least 100 people. We are struggling to coax people to play and that's not fun for either party.

Depends on who you play with. I got the raid exotics from LW, CoS after 7 clears, and SotP after 24...I still continued to do all three raids on a consistent basis. IMHO REAL raiders don't stop just because they got the raid exotic - they do the challenges, they try to run it faster, or flawless - three man even. Those who raid just for weapons are just as cancerous as New Lights running around on Pikes. I joined a clan just for that purpose. There's always a group wanting to play, wanting to do the challenges, Master difficulty, Flawless runs, etc.

"Real Raiders" Being curious here, how many "Real Raiders" have you ran into. Not including yourself. How many people would honestly run this over and over again just because they can? I would love to have any amount of "Real ___" for almost any game. They just don't exist in my experience. It's a word that had been used far too much to only bring up a small fraction of the community and put down the rest that aren't good enough, that don't have the time, that cannot have item A, B ,C because of RNG.

Think about it this way - just because we finish the game, get the weapons we wanted, doesn't mean we stop, right? PvPer's don't stop playing Crucible because they got to Legend. There's no point in playing gambit for anything, but people still play there. Strikes are redundant, lost sectors, and the list goes on. I was being facetious when I said "real", but in all honesty, I believe anyone who stops playing a portion of the content because they got whatever they wanted out of it are not real players - they don't understand the grind, nor appreciate it. If I've run the content 100x, and I've done everything possible, I'd still run it to help my fellow clanmates, friends, or acquaintances out.

I ran DSC 23 times after I'd got EOT until the last member of our group got it. No trouble , fun raid. I've 16 looted clears of VOG, pretty much the only one of the group not to get it. I'm not that fussed but getting a group will get harder as more people transition to Master.

And you're a wonderful person for that! You want to help out your fellow players and I want to do the same. I do VoG as much (when I am available) as I can when my friend plays even though I'm sick of it. But there has to be another 5 of you for every one of my friend.

Personally, I think this whole New Light, Free to Play brought in a bunch of cancerous players who have no intention of grinding, and just want easy mode. Those are the people I tea bag after blowing them up as they're getting on the pikes...

Though you at least have to admit a little that the game needs to adapt to it audience. Not 100% of course, but just enough. Sure people can change or play different games instead, but that's not going to stop gamers any time soon. We're kinda stuck here unless something budges.

That would make too much sense, and we all know that what makes sense is not worth Bungie's time implementing
