I'm in the US and i find that the SBMM is pretty good. They never find 12 people of my exact skill level, but many games are balanced. Of course i get the games were people leave, but i cant trust that no one will leave a game when i play with all randoms. Sometimes i'm at the top of the winning team, sometimes im at the bottom of the losing team. I still have a 51% winning percentage over 3000+ games.
They put some work into PVP for the season of undying. Maybe they arent the changes you were looking for?

Its pretty good in the Canadian part of the Pacific North West as well. Been moving my stats up higher and higher again when I don't play mayhem for catalysts, quests, whatnot. Games have been getting sweatier, but I don't mind that at all. Keep doing well even if I lose, and have fun. As much fun as a well using, side arm cruising warlock can in 6v6 control! Could be a dad loadout with pulse and side arm, but hey, work smarter not harder. I save handcannons and snipers/shotguns for comp.

Must be nice to experience what SBMM is supposed to be. I always end up with a 750 Bb or 2 and get steamrolled in solos.

I suspect it depends on where you live. And of course, what time you play relative to other players. And of course, many players play through a VPN now (for example, Google seems to think I'm from Sweden, WhatIsMyIP claims I'm in Finland, even though I'm actually in North America). And of course, a lot of lag switchers and drophackers around, so you never know if someone actually rage-quit, or if they got drophacked or DDoSed. But I also play a lot of late-night/early morning and I'll often end up playing against people in Japan and Russia, or occasionally Mexico (presumably in a different time zone than me though).
