You played the final version of Destiny 1 with all the updates and download content already on it. Destiny 2 has not even been out a month and it's got no new content and it will have loads of new content by the end of its lifespan.
You can't compare destiny one after all it's updates to destiny 2 when it's only just come out

So when you buy a new phone you have to wait 3 years for an update before you can text someone or take a pic.

I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the fact people don't understand this isn't a new game by a new company and to have it gutted from pre existing features isn't right
-
I'll be back in about an hour to argue, I have a Dep call to get to.
-
I won't be here but thanks for the heads up

I'm a kind soul.

We should get everything a full priced AAA title has not pieces of it.

You absolutely can compare the two when it's by the same developer and built in the same universe. Bottom line they should have learned. They should have taken what worked and incorporated it into the base game for D2. There should be more content, not less.
-
They did learn actually, and that's why D2 feels like a completely different game. They listened to people constantly complain, so they fixed and changed things complained about and now those same people are complaining for different reasons
-
They learned but they didn't incorporate things. They came out with more crucible modes and variety yet failed to carry it over. They came out with heroics for missions and strikes yet we don't see that in D2. They increased gear variety, rolls, and stats yet they brought less to the table in D2. The list goes on. So the reality is we aren't complaining about new things. We're complaining about the same things all over again because they didn't stick to the changes.

This is now the excuse people use for bungie. It's getting old.
-
All of the excuses for and against Bungie are getting old.
-
If I'm not mistaken with the exception of the treasure of ages mention, everything that guardian references was possible in D1 vanilla.
-
Heroics? Treasure of Ages? An actual story? More than 1 raid? Hive demigod? Where were these items during destiny 1 launch? Not that I don't agree with a lot of what OP said, but you obviously didn't play destiny 1 at launch.
-
Heroic story missions and the daily heroic story were in game at launch. Not much else. But those things were.

It's a sequel. Destiny 2 is an expansion pack isolated from the base game. Bungie did something unprecedented in that regard. Why it's not just a $60 xpac for D1.. who knows.
-
No - just no. I am not going to put a 3 week old D2 up against a 3 week old D1. I just don't understand you people - Bungie aren't back to the drawing board, they have seen what was done/needed in D1. If you can't hit the ground running with a sequel there is little point playing a 10 year game franchise.
-
The question to this is why did Bungie strip D2 down to the bare bones when they KNEW the popular improvements made in D1 added worth to the game in general? Wouldn't you think said improvements would become the "base model" for the Sequal?
-
Exactly! It makes no sense at all!
-
He wasn't talking about content but gameplay.
