I'll respond to one thing. When a game like this releases an expansion, The endgame content bar always gets raised. If you're not willing to ante up more money, then the new endgame is not there for you. Now the nightfall issue is debatable. But with the new strikes being added to the playlist a vanilla only customer would have access to about half of them. You would not be able to play very many times as is. It's a sticky situation I agree. But if you honestly expected to spend 60 dollars on a game and have it fulfill your pve endgame needs for over a Year then this must be your first game. Besides, the raids are significantly more content than the nightfall. You're not gonna get any of the new exotics and you're not gonna get higher level weapons so what's the point?
Edited for grammar.

This is the terrible situation where DLC actually shrinks the pool of available endgame.
-
True but if you've been playing since day 1 you should have every exotic. And you should be bored with the nightfall. If not, just buy the damn dlc. It's not like there's any subscription fee.

I don't have every exotic (thanks RNG) and I'm not bored with nightfall at least. it's one of the only endgames I still play for the actual fun of it. That and VoG but its exceedingly hard to get a group for VoG anymore.

Are you PS3 or 4.

I played a lot of cod games and was perfectly happy with the pvp for at least a year. No need to buy every single one that comes up every year OR buy the dlc. When the cod dlc came out it didn't limit me from the maps or guns I already had

I was talking about pve only.

And in terms of multiplayer neither will the taken king.
