Google it. It's out there. Court documents and arbitrator investigations now prove that Bungie and Activision started AND COMPLETED a 5 part game planned to be released over 10 years. Remember this... All the music written for the ENTIRE planned game was done by 2013. The redditor from last year was right . We now know from internal confirmation that the story was scrapped and re-written. We know that complete chunks of original content were spliced up to be released piecemeal as part of the plan. This has always been 'known' but never with any sort of confirmatory information from bungie itself.
EDIT: Okay, so not likely as to the full game content being completed, but I think it is unequivocal that expansions 1 and 2 and TTK were already built and just retooled with currency and leveling updates. But the levels and enemies and raid were probably done.
I think this now shows us that all the time spent between releases is done to RECODE the scenarios of already completed enemies, levels, and content to fit the cash-grabbing emptiness of story-absent "expansions". They are not CREATING ANYTHING. It is now proven that they are selling a completed game across a DECADE for extremely inflated prices. The changes to the currency and ascension and leveling are all secondary changes... Real changes but still nothing that forgives this kind of terrible $$$ grubbing scheme.
I'm with Angry Joe once and for all on this one:
YOU DONE FCUKED IT UP BUNGIE.
One more guardian walking away today... after hoping beyond hope that TTK and version 2.0 would be a step in the right direction. Until 9/3 Weekly Update confirmed our fears... no max level potential and now, NO CURRENT ENDGAME CONTENT WHATSOEVER DUE TO LEVEL LOCKOUTS if no TTK purchase.

1 OdpowiedźI read that making destiny was a living hell and that they had 5 builds that no one outside of Bungie has ever seen

I'm still standing by my bet that anonymous redditor last year was none other than Joe Staten.
-
You're a confirmed spy. You were hoping TTK would be a good step for Destiny until you found out you had to buy it? This entire OP is straight bullshit.
-
Been following his progress because of his lockout on his stock shares ever since it happened. He deserved his win, his stock, and more.

7 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika mflynn0351: 9/7/2015 5:39:29 PMI'll respond to one thing. When a game like this releases an expansion, The endgame content bar always gets raised. If you're not willing to ante up more money, then the new endgame is not there for you. Now the nightfall issue is debatable. But with the new strikes being added to the playlist a vanilla only customer would have access to about half of them. You would not be able to play very many times as is. It's a sticky situation I agree. But if you honestly expected to spend 60 dollars on a game and have it fulfill your pve endgame needs for over a Year then this must be your first game. Besides, the raids are significantly more content than the nightfall. You're not gonna get any of the new exotics and you're not gonna get higher level weapons so what's the point? Edited for grammar.

The content in Ttk and all expansions was done a long time ago. The 2.0 rebalance is new material they created after seeing issues. We all knew this some just lie to themselves. I'll buy Ttk because I'm bored. I don't feel like standing on principle on this occasion.

7 OdpowiedziYou're an idiot with no inkling as to how things are done. Completing a musical score in no way indicates that 4 games, 4 major expansions and 8 DLC are already completed. For a developer to create all that before releasing any iteration if a new IP, it would be counter productive and not cost effective. They've already run into issues associated with a strategy like that. You have zero idea what fans will want in a game 2 years from now. You don't how they'll react to certain characters, what adjustments will need to be made based on feedback. They've already scrapped the UI, HUD, and light level system. How much will that cost to retool 15 iterations of this game if they are indeed finished? Millions. Its a poor and short sighted theory based on an article that states only that the musical score is finished. This shows poor cognitive thinking on your part, OP. Do some research on your own and ignore the Reddit rubbish. Also, Marty was the one who felt Activision overstepped their bounds with the E3 trailer. However, Activision is in charge of marketing and they felt trailers fell under their scope. Instead of conversing with them about it, he attempted subterfuge to undermine their efforts and was a nuisance ever since, despite warnings that continued misbehavior would result in termination. It was then Bungie who tried to withhold monies that were rightfully Marty's. That is standard dick-move for many companies.

2 OdpowiedziWho cares what happens in the court room or round the developers table where they bash themselves over all the grubby little details. I don't care how a game is created, over what time, whether the whole thing has already been made and now they are releasing it bit by bit. I've got too much going on in life to worry or care. All I think is that I've had a hard day at work or with a busy day with the fam and now I want to kick back and shoot some aliens. I've paid way WAY more money for my hobbies that have not lasted nearly as long. Personally I think your getting way to wrapped up in its politics

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika ARMY_boy_PR: 9/7/2015 3:35:07 PMLol, the first vanilla game and the first 2 DLC where supose to be released all at once, everyone knew that. The music was recorded for the whole franchise? It is possible but that dosnt mean that the game is allready done. Music is way easier to compose and record compared to making a whole video game. There is no way they got 9 years of content made allready.

1 OdpowiedźWell... I don't know if reading between the lines is much different from interpreting things in a light that fits a particular view. All that is proven in that documentation is that O'Donnell completed and recorded an entire score to span what was planned to be 5 games. Destiny was delayed in order to retool the game, he wished to publish his work in that time, Activision refused, Activision then stepped over his creative authority and replaced music accompanying a Destiny promo with their own stuff, O'Donnell was rightfully annoyed by that, fighting over creative contol ensued, and O'Donnell was shown the door. Nowhere does it say or indicate that 5 games were completed and spliced up into what's being trickled out to us now. However what it does confirm unequivocally is that Destiny was supposed to release in 2013 but was intentionally delayed by Activision for an extra year in which it underwent revision. No more "maybe", that is now a fact.

We already knew all of this.
-
I agree with most of what you said, but All the games arnt "done" he recorded the music for it and the themes the story was to present but all the mechanics and the like for the next 10 years isn't done already haha
-
I've read the court case article floating around the forums, but that's as far as my direct knowledge of the situation goes. However, when your argument starts with "Google it" instead of a link to relevant documents, it's something of a discredit. That said, nothing in your post is... ahem... directly contrary to everything else I've heard.
-
Agreed, i read the documents myself was like wow they tried to cheat him out of his company stock big time and his music
-
Okay, so not definitive as to the full game content being completed, but I think it is unequivocal that expansions 1 and 2 were retooled content.
-
Eh, I don't think its that bad. Oh its still be pretty bad. I do think TTK is all new stuff. Since it seems to really fit in with their newer, much more boring story. But TDB and HOW, yeah probably retooled content that already existed. That and a bunch of other content that was cut from the original game. Like when they said the Reef zone hadn't started being created until after the game launched. Bullshit, that zone is clearly seen in the first trailer. Not to mention the Lighthouse which is just so damn random and probably meant to be another post tower zone after the player learned the Traveler was evil or something. Yeah it all suck, RIP old Bungie. Thankfully I don't have time to even be tempted to buy TTK, I'll be way too busy with MGS5 and Fallout 4 this holiday.
