There was a 10% decrease in base damage. Plus, they were kinda strong. I mean, I was one shotting majors with my Felwinter's. Bungie has been working on these changes for months. They wouldn't have weakened it if they didn't find it necessary.

Couldn't those majors also one-shot you, normally? And you still had to get rather close in order for even felwinter's to hit hard, the risk/reward for shotguns in PvE is currently solid as hell, in my opinion. When it comes to PvP, I totally understand the need for nerfs/buffs. But goddammit, keep that crap away from PvE.... NEVER nerf PvE, always balance up, otherwise your players are left feeling like retards with supersoakers, instead of "legends"

I feel what you're saying, but how are you okay with a PvE shotgun buff, but not a PvE shotgun nerf?

Always balance up, in PvE... it's -blam!-ing AI, they don't whine, let us have [b]FUN[/b] and wreck them a little. I was OK with the buff for PvE because shotties were utterly useless before it was applied. It made shotties useful, and more importantly, [i]fun[/i], ultimately enriching my Destiny experience by adding more viable weapon choices (the opposite of what will happen with this latest fiasco). Of course, Bungie realized that the best weapons are those from the vanilla game, and that crap that Jon Weinerstuffer, or whatever, is bringing to the table just can't compete. So they had to Retro-nerf the whole playing field. I'm sorry Bungie, I earned that gun, the way it is, I would appreciate the opportunity to continue to enjoy it.

First of all, shotguns aren't going anywhere. It was just a measly 10% nerf. I doubt that it'll create any drastic changes. Second, there is no such thing as balancing up. This is why they nerfed the Black Hammer, Gjally, IB, and PvE shotguns. They want balance in the game. I understand that AI don't whine, but if these weapons continue to be this powerful, the game will continue to be so easy. Think about it. How fair is it that enemies like the Archon Priest, Spider Tanks, Sepiks Prime, Phogoth, etc. don't even get a chance to fight because they are stun locked by the BH. How is it fair that Skolas is constantly getting wrecked by the Gjally. These weapons are essentially an easy mode for PvE. And Bungie is trying to make other sniper rifles viable. When is the last time you used a sniper other than the BH in Crota's End, or most of the strikes? Edit: I guess it makes sense to use the BH in Crota's End due to the hive distruptor perk. But that isn't really the main reason why people use it.

Other snipers are so much better than IB or black hammer!! Black hammer is ONLY good for boss fights, it's practically useless on groups. And the only thing IB is good for is glitching heavy ammo. I'll take Praedyth's Revenge or a good LDR over the nerfed snipers.. really though, the sniper rifles was the only part of the whole thing that didn't have me yelling profanities at my screen. I'm fine with what they did to snipers. That was a slight adjustment to a single perk across the weapon class, and then individual adjustments to guns deemed "too fun"? I can live with that. Flip flopping from class-wide nerf to class-wide buff and back, however, I cannot put up with.

Well I can't force you to like the adjustments. All I ask is that you try out the weapons when the patch releases.
