I'm confused a little bit does Destiny even have Submachine guns ? I'm more of a Submachine type of player .
Edit: I can't wait to play Destiny , I'm always on the forums because it's the only thing filling the void of the beta an making this month come faster . My birthday is actually 09/10 . And I'ma be spending it eating birthday cake playing Destiny !!

Yeah it does, I had 2 of them on me. Fun stuff.
-
Yeah, the sub-machine guns to me are assault riffles with high rate of fire. But u really have to be at close range to close-medium range to use it effectively unless ur crazy accurate with it
-
The closest youll get is finding an auto rifle with a high rate of fire

Editado por Rogue4Lyfe: 8/19/2014 1:36:52 AMdo you even lift bro?
its not like there are auto rifles with insanely high rates of fire which are basically the same thing as SMGs

shit there are
-
No and I'm glad it doesn't.
-
Nope. SMGs are overrated. I preferr semi - auto weaponry. One shot one kill. #headshotfanatic
-
Sadly none, just Hand cannons (revolvers), Pulse Rifles (Burst only Assault Rifles), Scout Rifles (Single shot equivalents to D.M.Rs), Auto Rifles (Standard Assault Rifle), Fusion Rifles (Burst only Energy weapon), Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy Machine Guns and Rocket Launchers. While the weapons list is large the 3 Rifles are very similar in that they could just be tweaked by firing modes rather than have a separate weapon that is distinguished by its fixed firing mode. But if we ask enough maybe they would introduce SMGs, but then would it be a primary or a special weapon? I would lean on it being a primary weapon.
-
doubt it. But i had a weapon in the beta which had a high rate of fire and handled like an SMG

Destiny represents the future where civilization finally realized there is no need for smgs or pdws after the development of the combat rifle.
-
Techicnaly speaking...yes they do have SMGs I believe it's in the auto rifle category. I remember using it because it had a massive fire rate compared to any other auto rifle or pulse rifle I had but the impact was not what I had in mind. So in some ways yes the SMGs do exist in Destiny, it just doesn't feel like it to me.
-
My Shingen felt very submachiney
-
I don't remember where Bungie said it but they did once claim to have SMGs in Destiny. I do know it was well before the beta so things could and most likely look like they changed their minds.
-
I hope there are because compared to borderlands there aren't much types of guns according to the beta
-
the auto rifle Sahara, is the closest I've come to an SMG. but really... I didn't even miss them, when I was playing the beta.
-
A lot of assault rifles carry the properties of an smg, such as a high fire rate but less damage than that of their other automatic counter parts. So there kinda are, depending on what you're looking for in an smg. Hope this helps.
-
Maybe I'm crazy but aren't pulse rifles, essentially SMG's that shoot in burst? I actually didn't use them much but that's what I figured.
-
I think Destiny's version of the submachine gun are the fusion rifles. I love them for the great burst, heavy impact, and amazing charging sound effect! I need to find one in game that has a relatively short charge time.
-
Submachine guns are for try hard k.d lovers. Submachine guns are too easy to use.
-
Some of the ARs feel like smgs. Extreme fire rate, higher recoil and high capacity mags. You'll find something close enough, trust me.
-
I think SMGs are not in Destiny because their stats and function would not be any different from the quick firing Assault Rifles that we have. In most first person shooters each weapon fills a specific role and you're right in saying a lot of SMGs fill the role of close quarters quick firing weapons. The problem is Destiny is not like most other first person shooters. The ARs can be anywhere from powerful slow firing to quick firing close quarters shred machines. They already fill the role the SMG would normally fill in a regular FPS due to the fact that weapons have stats. I see what you're saying and if Bungie could figure out a good niche to put SMGs into I would also like to see them implemented in the game. At this point however it would not make any sense as every obvious role has already been filled. Keep asking though. Perhaps if a lot a people want them Bungie will find a good place for them in a future expansion. They are creative like that.
-
There will be assault rifles that function as SMGs.
-
The Sahara could have been considered an SMG due to its high fire rate and low accuracy.
-
SMGs are cool, but they have no place in destiny. The auto rifle already fills that role. Short to mid range with high rate of fire. Any closer and you might as well use the shotgun.
-
I see the fusion rifles being close to submachine guns
-
Im one of the few smgs are not in Destiny, but would like to see a Dual Wield SMG Heavy weapon with explosive rounds. Why not a standard weapon and why make it Heavy? Standard smg type weapons have become the standard spam spray and pray weapon, and I don't see SMGs in the future as many full rifle formats can be converted into a SMG body today. SMGs with large caliber explosive rounds with low firing rate can be considered heavy. What do you guys think?

I think that auto rifles are closer to a submachine gun type
