Perhaps the term "Flood" is outdated...

It is with a heavy heart that I consider the ramifications of what I'm about to suggest. Times change, and so do the means that we use to continue our respective shenanigans. Just like the change of Zanzibar merging into New Mombasa, and then being replaced with Halo 3's forum, so too must we change. It is the way of things. We linger on the precipice of change. The "Flood" of now is no longer the Flood we all once loved and cherished. I even daresay that it is now an insult to the earlier times of the Flood in its golden age. We are not the Floodians of yesterday. We have lost so many, changed so much, that to call ourselves this term, to carry on with it, we would disgrace it. We will never have another Porch Day. We will never have more forum games. And despite the initial spam-filled wasteland that this forum was when the new forum was just instated, we never did achieve a fraction of the glory of the old forum, and we never will. We need to let it go. The Flood is dead. Of course, this leaves open a new nickname to be used for posters of the off-topic section. It is a difficult thing that I ask of you, to join me in putting the past to rest, to set aside the gloried past, and strive for a different path. I ask you to retire your usage of the term "Flood", and hope you join me as we march into the future. It's been a helluva ride, but there's more rides ahead.
