Bane kind of did everything the Joker never could though. He not only beat the goddamned Batman, but he showed how horrible the city was and it tore itself apart. Joker wanted this to happen, and set it up, but it failed like he did. Bane wanted it to happen, set it up, it happened, and he crushed the Batman at the same time.
Bane would easily win. He has more dedicated followers, he's a better fighter, and he's a better tactician. The Joker is a great villian, and his movie was great, but Bane is simply sheer force both mentally and physically.
but Bane is simply sheer force both mentally and physically.
Thing about the Joker is he manages to cleverly maneuver around situations in which that'd be an advantage. You could actually make the case that Bane failed harder than The Joker, who actually succeeded in emotionally ruining Bruce Wayne, turning Dent into a murderous psychopath and killing off the mob bosses in Gotham. Bane had one job and he couldn't do it. In fact he gave Wayne a way to escape the ghosts of his past and live free of Batman, so he kind of double failed.

I feel as though Joker would be able to break Bane psychologically. Bane is mentally strong, don't get me wrong, but Joker's tricks and "social experiments" demonstrate, at least to me, that he has the ability to destroy even Bane's psyche.
