Hey in the link above Jay Wilson (former director of Diablo 3) says [quote]Diablo III's auction houses--both real-money and in-game--have negatively impacted the game. Though 50 percent of all players make use of the auction houses, Wilson explained that making real-world money has become more of a motivating factor for players than killing Diablo. Still playing Diablo 3 - it was actually the reason I bought a new rig after 10+ years without a gaming PC. Loved Diablo 2 back in the day, but playing it now only highlights flaws with the game. It also looks like a manatee that has bit hit in the face repeatedly with a shovel - bloody awful. Diablo 3 just feels right to me - the combat is fluid and exciting, there are enough skills to have bulds but not too many to make any redundant, game is varied enough an long enough for me now to get bored... The game isn't perfect, but by god do I love it. My GOTY for 2012 hands down. Haven't been so into a game in years and keep coming back for more.

2 RespuestasI thoroughly enjoyed the game upon first playthrough and even found fun in a second playthrough with my friends. But any further attempts at Diablo III playthroughs felt empty. After completing the game alone and with friends, there was simply no more replay value. It got stale and boring very quickly. This is expected with most games. With most games you expect the enjoyment of 1 or 2 playthroughs. Unfortunately for Diablo III, a comparison must be made to Diablo II. With Diablo II, There was a new level of replayability that set the bar for all games to follow. Expecting the same from Diablo III was clearly a mistake as in the end I was left wanting more. Overall, Diablo III is a very well designed and polished game that unfortunately has low replay value. That said, I do look forward to expansion content that will hopefully bring back the replayability that was lost in the gap since Diablo II.

After how much I loved Diablo 2, I was massively disappointed Diablo 3 threw out everything that made D2 great.

The game is very well designed, well written, and very boring :( I can't play it for more than two hours. I kinda feel disappointed that I don't like it more, but the fact of the matter is it's premise is so... bland. The accumulation of loot. I just don't know if that cuts it anymore as the impetus of a game.
