I know how hard it can be to have a community as active and voracious as ours, but start thinking more creatively. Ive seen many areas in seasonal and story missions that would make amazing crucible maps, and it wouldnt take up more space since they are already in the game. You did this with D1, and while i hate the D1 was better trend, I dont see why you cant do it here. The UAZ is a great example of wasting creativity, its huge and has lots of nooks and crannies, but we hardly see any of it in solstice. Make a huge 16 person free for all game mode on that map with radar disabled, bring back combined arms in the seraph launch site. After The Final Shape, i think you need to take a HUGE breather, stop focusing on season content so much and yearly DLCs that burn out in a month or two, make a HUGE DLC that takes years, and can last awhile like TTK or Rise of Iron, with events sprinkled in and some seasonal stuff throughout. stop with the constant small additions, its better to release alot at once than a little all the time, people will get less bored an less mad. Think outside the box. Use what you have, theres great maps for Gambit and PVP just lying there in story missions, patrols and seasonal missions that aren't being used. Take the time to focus on one thing at once and make it good, then move onto the next thing. Solve the problems, dont put a band aid on a broken leg and come back a year later with another one. in the words of Ron Swanson, dont half -blam!- two things, whole -blam!- one thing. You arent half assing two things, you are trying to do everything at once, and failing at it. Take the hint, people can wait, so long as its worth it. Whole -blam!- one thing at a time, Focus on making a huge PVP drop, find sections of game to use as maps. then move on, work the problems. Its okay to take it bit by bit, thats how progress works. For the community, please take the poll above and give your own feedback

  • Bungie is already working on at least the second season, or second post-campaign ~whatever~ from Final Shape. I believe it was during the Lightfall Showcase, but somewhere along that time it was mentioned indirectly that Bungie is always 3 seasons ahead in terms of development. 9 months of potential content being generated at any given time, and we're starting a new season in 2 weeks. Season 22 is already done, and waiting for launch with some minor polishing work being done to it between now and then. Any suggestions to take a break now is wasted. It's already done.

    • No, they don't need a break, they're not some small indie studio with five employees, they're a AAA studio worth $3.6 billion ... quit creating excuses for a corporation and hold them to account. Anyways, Bungie themselves has said that content is made 3-6 months in advance, so the Final Shape is already done, or about to be. I want them to release it asap, so I can kick this addiction and replace it with a new one. That's the only reason we're still playing this game when it's in the state it's in, because we're addicted.

      • What do you even hope to accomplish with this, lol? Did the SOTG still not prove to you that they don't care about feedback and do what they plan to do?

      • Nah the game is already dead at this point give me the final shape and let the game die out fully. Then no one even think about buying or playing marathon.

      • I'm already not playing it because of how bad it's been since S17. I hope Bungie can fix it and make a come back. But after that SotG - I doubt it's going to happen.

When are you guys going to realize none of us have any say with D2 and or how Bungie runs things? You’d think after a decade you’d get it. Polls, angry posts, venom, boycotts, refunds and wishful thinking hasn’t changed anything. Feedback is great and leads to minor changes and QoL changes but isn’t going to redirect what they have already decided to do. They’re a multi-billion dollar company because they follow the path they have planned and put into motion. It’s Bungies game and we are along for the ride.

I’d rather have an empty Lightfall year for a good final shape.

        • Honestly I kind of wish Bungie stopped making seasonal content for about 6 months and used that time to make a few new pvp and gambit maps as well as return all vaulted ones.Even some more D1 maps reskinned with a D2 destination like how the Distant shore map has a Nessus setting while in D1 it had a Venus setting(was also called Shores of time I think) may be a good addition too.

          • Didn't vote, there's no point. Why would they pull the plug when it's still milking them money?

          • The problem with this whole concept, and its not a new one, is that Bungie's concept of fixing things versus our's are VASTLY different. Frankly after the last couple of years I fear the results would just upset all of us even more then we can imagine. Strangely when we had issues during the D1 days, they did fix and improve things! My only hope is the final year for D2 (story wise and probably playing wise for most of us) will be as well done, actually better really, then the last year of D1. We got lots of cool things that last year, best armors and shaders in the entire franchise, but I'd prefer new content (wait did that come from the one that misses his old content) instead of beefed up redos. But at least they were great ones! But from info for SOTG I can no believe they will fix anything based on players expectations. I also do not disagree that adding new maps, ect is hard. They are working with an ancient set of dev tools which suck up time, effort and energy in more ways then most can understand. WHAT I WOULD WAIT FOR - is a year off for Bungie to switch dev tools to a new, modern and vastly more powerful pipeline. But having been down that road for a the top (back in the day) CG application 1 year would not be enough to bring devs up to speed, prot assest over, recomp them, plug the pipeline into a REAL sandbox testbed (something Bungie really does dehydrated piss poorly to begin with) and feed it all into the player servers with monitoring, chat, LFG like services, API exposure and other tools plugged in as well. Yeah sorry 1 year just would not be enough.

          • All I hear out of Bungie are excuses. I guess that's what sets a game developer apart from "regular" companies. If my clients were screaming at me as much as we scream at Bungie, and I told the CEO I didn't have the resources to fix it, I'd be replaced. Then again, every new expansion sets new sales records, so....

What I don't understand is how any can even believe they can "fix the game' knowing they deliberately spent years looking for ways to brake it. The damage done to this game is set in stone. It would literally take a complete overhaul to undo all the issues they cased for this game. With their outdated engine that has cased a lot of the issues because of bad coding, that is something that will never happen let alone would it be able to be done by this business.

          • I would take a delay of Final Shale for “Season of updates and improvements.” I just want consistency. Not drip fed updates and QoL. Focusing and crafting are optional, so there is no reason that benefits players to exclude any portion of the game from these updated reward mechanics. They should be applied to the game as a whole. Update dungeons like raids have been. Fold them into the spoils system. Make the weapons craftable. Give Throne and Pit their own loot. Give Prophecy an exotic. Update all weapons that haven’t been so they have relevant perks and origin traits. Rework as many exotic armors as possible. Give catalysts to all exotic weapons that don’t have one. Rework stasis to work similarly to and compete with the light 3.0 subs. Give it a second super. Give any sub that only has one melee a second one. Rework Dares to work for targeting updated older loot. Add Lucent Hive and Shadow Legion enemy types.
