• There's too many issues. Why was the pilot on the ground, when she should have been flying and harassing the Shadow Legion?

  • So either very lazy storytelling or very dark storytelling that will be discovered later. Good theory but at this point I'm more inclined to think it was just lazy storytelling.

  • It’s not an impossibility, I agree her death was indeed poor writing, but she carried herself and her duties with a sense of pride. Actively seeking death for that purpose would have been immensely out of character for her. I think it more likely she after being around guardians where death is largely relative may have made her more reckless and willing to be a blind altruist leading to her to loose a need for self preservation. But I find it unlikely she’d willing to play that gamble especially after season of the Haunted story; you could argue Safi was just as worthy as Amanda to become a guardian but that never occurred, Hakim died protecting his mother and their settlement and he wasn’t chosen, even Amanda’s parent (I think mother) died protecting their caravan to the last city and she never returned either. Amanda would have had an extremely good grasp that if she died she’d probably stay dead, after all a guardian doesn’t retain who they used to be only snippets even when presented directly with their past: Ana Bray for example.

  • I don’t think the traveller would resurrect anyone who actually wanted to be a guardian nevermind one who intentionally killed themselves with the hopes of becoming one

    • Here we go. Another fan's fantasy. Bungie killed Amanda because they didn't know how to use her, and because she was white and straight. They even add to her feministic behaviour of strong and independent woman in this season (as make her stupid, which she wasn't like that like never).

        • Can we talk about how she shot the control panel just to hold the two wires together that she shredded

          • Suicide in a game - not a good message and it lessens her sacrafice. Amanda and Devrim are not complaining but merely pointing out the grim reality of their own mortality which sets the story's tone. Amanda could come back later as a Guardian or some hybrid Guardian. This season looks like it's her demise but could be just the start of a new Amanda and a new storyline. Whether Bungie realizes or not or has something planned, the relationship theme of her and Crow are really not resolved. Now that we got the last recording, Zavala mentions that if she came back as a Guardian, she wouldn't have any memory of her former life but Zavala would remind her. With the Traveler damaged, maybe a darker or a lost Amanda emerges. The key things we got here for a potential future Amanda story - her relationship with Crow and her relationship with the father figure Zavala. This is speculation but one thing is certain is that Amanda's death seems a bit off.

            • Not to mention the plot hole with the tormentor. During the fight it teleports into the control room but doesn't attack her.

              • Eramis killed her, how do you think she knew about the trap ? And did she warn any Humans ?, no And Mithrax took up for her, just slaughter the Fallen now before they inevitably betray us "Fallen Are Liars"-Saint 14

                •
Her and Devrim consistently complained about how the Guardian could do things they could not, take risks that they couldn't do, and how they wish they could jump into the fray of it. Amanda's capture may have been unavoidable, but given everything else she went through it makes me feel like that was her first attempt at hope that the Traveler would resurrect her. Then she had to hold two wires together to help get the prisoners out. An engineer of her magnitude wasn't able to quickly jerry rig a solution together that would allow the wires to stay connected-- she had to hold them? I don't buy it. It felt like it was such a lazy way to write her off until I considered the other two bits of information. It leads me to a part of the Destiny universe that's very dark: people who put themselves recklessly in danger, in hopes of being resurrected with greater powers.
There was a cabal timer ticking on the panel before that you can see Its almost un-noticeable but it appears early on

                • She didn't have time to get out. It wasn't suicide since by that time you should've finished the Neomuna story and offed Calus. As soon as that cabal timer thing started I knew she was as good as dead.

Crow killed her, either on accident... trying to kill Mithrax, or on purpose because she rejected him. Or Mara did it, for the previous 2 reasons. Amanda never trusted the light (this is my theory).
