It's just become Gjallambit. Heavy ammo isn't the essential issue it's the mono-weapon.

No, it's the over amount of heavy. You can sub gally for any heavy and still have the same issue. They need to revert heavy back to how it used to be.

You wouldn't. You'd still have invasions - it's Gambit. There'd still be plenty of Heavy with Scavenging. The core issue is overwhelming prevalence of multi-tracking RLs. It's become little more than Gjallahorn Vs Gjallahorn, or occasionally Gjallahorn Vs EoT. Even with a few spare bricks of Heavy as previously and you have the exact same issue.

  • No, there wouldn't be plenty of heavy. They disabled scavenger in gambit. And since ammo finder barely works, that's not an issue neither. They can put heavy back on a timer and only allow 1 person to get it. Rocket launchers are just the it weapons right now because of the amount of heavy. There is always going to be it heavy weapons. They used to be sleeper, queenbreaker, other linear fusion, machine guns, etc. All those got nerfed, which messed up the game because the nerfs affected all of destiny, not just gambit. They've already nerfed rockets to track less in gambit, which is good enough, just need to lessen the amount of heavy.

Nope, really, no. The tracking nerf was entirely ineffective - it did literally nothing. The situation is one of powercreeping weapons where you can effortlessly and skilllessly wipe the team and use the same weapon to melt the boss. That's multi-tracking RLs. And it zip all to do with the Heavy.

  • Without heavy, those rocket launchers are useless. It's the fact everyone gets heavy countless times throughout a round that is the issue, not the weapons themselves.

Without Heavy ALL Power weapons are useless. All weapons aren't the problem, multi tracking RLs are . Stopping all Heavy weapons because of Gjallahorn would be literally ridiculous and wouldn't work for a minute. Gambit needs Heavy, always has and always will have Heavy, to take down the Primeval. And that's all you need - just one brick - to have the easiest, effortless, skill-free team-wiping with either Gjallahorn or EoT. It's now become Gjallambit : little more than bouts of Gjallahorn Vs Gjallahorn. That's how bad it is and the ammo economy is truly irrelevant, could not, would not even touch it.

  • You obviously didn't play gambit when sleeper was the it weapon. Or when queenbreaker was the it weapon. Or when machine guns were the it weapons. Or linear fusions. I'm mentioning those because there has always been an it heavy weapon that was used in gambit. Right now it's rocket launchers. Which is not the issue. The issue is there is so much heavy available to everyone. You take rocket launchers away, and people would just be complaining about whatever heavy people used next because the issue would still exist. Bungie needs to revert the heavy back to how it used to be. Heavy on a timer and bricks drop from enemies. Issue solved cause everyone wouldn't have an abundance of heavy.

Obviously I did. And restrictions to Heavy wasn't the solution then and could never be solution. That's why they targeted the problem. Here the problem is the powercreeping of multi-tracking RLs. Reverting back to previous Heavy supply is fine but will make ZERO difference to the actual problem, won't even be touched in the slightest never mind solved. No, that's not how game balance works: when you have just one sub- type that has no downsides, can easily wipe the Primeval, can easily wipe invaders, can easily, skilllessly, effortlessly, team-wipe in invading, it makes all others redundant. Massive redundancy, clear OP outliers is not a balanced sandbox and is unsustainable for Gambit. It's a one-horse race and Bungie at least knows it. It needs Gambit-targetted nerfs 100% or they just leave Gjallambit to rot.

  • Restrictions to heavy worked better than what we have now. In fact, I think what we have now is in response to people that complained about others that heavy camped. Bungie just said fine, everyone gets it. Rocket launchers don't have power creep. They are just easy to use, especially when you know where the invader has to go this week: to your bank to take motes. Nerfing them (which they already have done in gambit, and it's crept into the overall game) does nothing but move the community to the next weapon, and the issue will continue. There will be cries to nerf that next. We'll be in a nerf cycle and just left with weak weapons until bungie drops something new or makes huge change in the sandbox, which has happened since d1. Bungie listened to the few that complained about not getting heavy, so we have what we have now. They really need to stop listening and trying to please the few when making changes to the game. Make changes for the majority, not the minority.
