Well Lore... I have bad news about Variks...
Was reading up on the Stolen Intelligence tabs I just unlocked through heroic strikes...
For those who do not wish to be spoiled... this is your turn to read it for yourself. Go do strikes, get your 20 strike tokens from the end, and go see Zavala. It's the first tab called "Outliers"...
For those who just want to read it? Here you go:
"VIP #1121, well-known to Guardians of the inner systems as Variks, or Variks the Loyal. Directly responsible for the release of the murderer Uldren Sov from the Prison of Elders, #1121 subsequently fled Awoken holdings in the Reef and now styles himself the Kell of Kells, still representing House Judgement. The Praxic Order has petitioned the Vanguard for permission to detain #1121. The Awoken monarchy, acting through the Queen's Wrath, has claimed jurisdiction over #1121 and further stated that any prosecution in absence of their involvement will be considered an act of war. The Vanguard has not yet made a statement about their position on the issue."
Sorry guys. But if video footage shows Variks doing that? Then I'm holding him personally responsible for Cayde's death as an accomplice and will put him down on sight.

Variks was one of my fave chrts from D1 such a shame that they made this grate chrt only to trash him off and explain half his shiz in a bunch of text off screen,...i miss Variks and POE

I'ma just say he's indirectly responsible for cyades death and shouldn't be held accountable to be honest. He didn't know cyade was gonna come and of he did it's no like he wanted cyade dead, he just wanted to revive the true eliksni race

I read this bit of lore on stream a few days ago. IMO, The Warden of Nothing Strike / Nightfall hinted towards Variks' involvement with Cayde's murder. According to Ghost, Servitors are considered holy to the Fallen, so it's very weird that Variks left his Servitor behind at the prison. So much for being a friend to humanity... UNLESS... he was Taken in the same way that Uldren was Taken.

[/quote] The Praxic Order wants to detain Variks, even if it may cause war with the Reef? The Praxic Order wants to expell (and maybe kill) the Drifter only because they don't agree with his methods? I don't know man, their demands to the Vanguard sound a little odd to me.

If we get a mission to go kill variks, I ain't doing it unless there's a spare version of the mission like with mithrax. Cause variks was my 2/3rd favorite character and he's my best buggy friend

I was hoping for something I missed like we’re hunting Variks but it’s just something a wide majority of people already knew. Don’t believe me reread some of the books. Literally Variks is like I give you gift friend Uldren then leaves his Warden in charge who was programmed to release the prisoners like a day after.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we capture Variks and fight him in the Prison Of Elders. With our ghost commentating "Sorry Variks, we have to KILL YOU BACK!!!!" I wonder if he is Kell size now, he must be since he left, he has the elder ciphers and has probably been drinking more ether
