Bring back ALL Y1 gear. It should never have been left behind in the first place.

Agreed. Funny how their reasoning was that they didn't want you to continue using old gear from year one to two. Yet they let you continue to use gear from year 2 to 3. Hypocrites

This isn't year 3? Sure about that?

We are in y3

Yes, we're in the third year of Destiny, but there's no distinction between y2 and "y3" like there was with yrs 1 and 2. Y3 is still considered y2. Even Bungie stated they were "hesistant" to call this Y3. Check the version history - we're still on Version 2.4, which supports their statement on which year we're in. When TTK dropped, we moved from 1.2.0.5 to 2.0.0.0. This is distinction. Don't have that with RoI. We're still technically in Y2, which is why gear has carried over.
-
It's the third year. That's all I'm saying man. They changed a bunch of stuff. Just because they let us carry over stuff doesn't stop time.

My point was more about how people seem puzzled at how we couldn't transfer y1 gear to y2, and how we can from Y2 to "y3". They don't understand the technical distinction, or they don't want to.

Ya I don't think anyone knows exactly why they didn't bring things back, but now they're slowly rolling out some of the y1 things again. Only bungie knows. Only thing I can guess about them bringing things back now is to try to bring back old players who left
-
And we won't come back unless they do it RIGHT. Meaning, they better not touch the elemental burns on the Y1 weapons OR tinker around with the old legacy content, with the exception of just increasing light level. Anything more, and IMO, they're just ruining every reason we HAD to consider coming back. And there is still that tricky thing about the pricing of RoI. I don't believe its worth $30.00.
-
Bringing old players back is more of a side benefit. They left Y1 stuff behind because it was just too good. There was no where for them to go but up - power creep. But, they did go too far the other direction.
-
They just made such a great experience for pve. They -blam!-ed up when they made pvp. Should have been done more like halo pvp. Select weapons and classes. Not a free for all. Use whatever
-
Yup. I think that's the best way. Everything is even and balanced, and separate from PvE. Which is what everyone wants. The experiment is over Bungie. It didn't work. PvP and PvE can not co-exist.

Yeah, they've made some HUGE blunders with Y2. Not allowing Y1 gear to move forward, 3oC, Making raid gear worse than vendor gear so there's no reason to run the raid, no elemental primaries... At this point, I don't see a way they can fix the game without a total reboot of the game, which is why I am not so against starting from scratch in D2. IF they address these issues by separating PVP balance from PVE from the start AND making D2 a hell of a lot more like the game was in Y1, I might actually give it a chance. If not, there are a LOT of good games out there right now, so why waste time with a cut-rate game pretending to be a AAA title?
