This isn't tongue-in-cheek, this isn't sarcastic, and this isn't even meant as a "haha you're stuck in the past" barb at the PS3 and 360 players.
I'm just legit amazed that you guys haven't gotten together and said, "This is not what we were promised when we invested $60 - $100+ in buying this game and the updates that it turned out. We're not going to settle for this treatment and this kind of exclusionary behavior, just because we're less financially-capable of buying a next-gen console."
Don't get me wrong, I 100% understand the hardware limitations that come with the older consoles, and I 100% understand that Destiny has just about reached that limitation on both machines. But it goes way beyond that, with all of the extra-steps they've been taking to proverbially cut the balls off of the last-gen players.
They could've honestly just left it at, "You won't be getting the next big expansion, because it just can't support what we're trying to do with it." But Bungie has seen fit to not only cross the line, but barrel across it and then piss all over it once they're on the other side.
> "You won't be getting exotics from Xur anymore."
> "You won't be playing Trials of Osiris anymore; you won't be getting Trials-Gear anymore."
> "You won't be playing Iron Banner anymore; you won't be getting Iron Banner-Gear anymore."
> "You won't be enjoying the live-events like Festival of the Lost anymore."
> "You won't be getting anymore updates to gear, and so you won't be getting higher light-levels anymore."
And that's just a few things to list off. Bungie has basically told you guys, "The game's over until you decide to upgrade. Now go piss up a rope." All of this is why I'm amazed that these two communities haven't gotten together and said, "No. -blam!- that shit. Class-Action Lawsuit."
Don't get me wrong; I'm on my Next-Gen console, personally. I'm 100% ready for the update and waiting eagerly for September. But as someone who's spent most of my life being stuck in "Last-Gen" situations, as far back as the PS2 era (I didn't get a PS2 of my own until almost 2005), I feel bad for you guys.
To me, this just seems like you're getting a bad cut, no matter how you slice it.

Better call Saul

This will get their attention dude. Seriously. I'm glad someone spoke up about it. I have never played destiny because they refuse to release it on gamecube. Like, totally unfair, right? Thanks for the laugh kid lol

Here we have a perfect example of:

not reading the ToS

not reading the EULA

watching a 2 minute YouTube video and suddenly think you're a lawyer

Failing

If they can't afford a new console that has been out for 3 years, I doubt last gen players would even lift a finger for a lawsuit. The funds wouldn't be there.
-
Puff pass

I'm actually amazed you think there are any grounds for a class action lawsuit. You can't even have a basic grasp of consumer law, or law of any kind for that matter.

Editado por Maestro25: 7/31/2016 8:11:50 PMMajor sports games get their online service completely shut down after 2-3 years. This is no different
Stop being so damn cheap and upgrade! If you can't afford it, then it looks like console gaming just isn't for you!
-
Wow, seriously...at least they're keeping the servers on, they have every right to shut them out completely. And I'm pretty sure the EULA and ToS allow bungie to do just about anything they want.
-
LOL what a stupid and ridiculous post.
-
You should really read the back of your game case before making such a stupid post my man
-
Bungie went on record saying they had plans for a 10 year franchise. They never tied it to a console. They never confirmed a release schedule. They never mentioned a pricing model. They never promised anything. Anyone who legitimately expected the 360 or PS3 to be relevant for 10 years is a fool. Period.
-
When you make the purchase, you agree to purchase the licence to use that game, and a part of that agreement says that the developers can alter the game's content at any time, this includes completely neglecting to support the game further, which they've chosen to do. No foul play has taken place. Bungo are well within their rights to halt further support of last gen consoles.
-
Last gen was dropped from GTA 5 online shortly after current gen was incorporated into the game. After a while, people get over it and move on. In general, human's attention span isn't that great.
-
Look up terms and agreement that's why. I think they could have just added roi to old gen and have d2 be current gen only. But I also see why they did it last gen is so old at this point we are talking about 15 year old tech if you add the time for r and d. Then back to terms we do not own the games we only lease the game to play and all things in game and systems are subject to change.
-
Have you read Bungie policy? I guess not.
-
People are still talking about old gen?
-
Every game is about $60 should we all band together and Sue everytime our feelings are hurt. It's time to move on from this subject already.
-
Out of everything that's happened, this is what you think would bring a lawsuit?
-
Question: When new PC games come out stating what's needed to make it run effectively to get the best gaming experience possible, do you sue the game maker or save up and get a better PC or hardware upgrade?
-

Bungie NEVER stated any of these things. If this were true why would bungie decide to branch out Legacy to Current gens. If these asumtions were true they would of not have branched them out and would've just left legacy consoles in the past just like if you bought HoW but not TTK. Stop making assumptions and actually wait until it is confirmed before looking stupid once the time comes.

Editado por Phluphy319: 7/31/2016 7:28:13 AMYeah brah, I'm gonna sue all the bands and record companies aswell because I only have a tape and record player. It's bad enough I can't get the new Brittany Spears album on my outdated piece of shit now I can't play the latest games either. I'm gonna be rolling in monies

$100 for 2 years of entertainment is actually a pretty good deal I'd say...

I didn't think a post here could ever display this much stupidity! Well, here it is.... :-/

Because time is money. To keep those activities in last gen, they would also need consistent maintenance to keep it all working properly. Consistent maintenance requires upkeep of the old code for last gen and the new code for current gen. They then need to make sure everyone knows how to use both the old and new code for consistent upkeep. This means new hires have to waste time learning the old code and the new code. By removing weekly/monthly activities, Bungie greatly reduces the chances of major issues cropping up on last gen. This means they can spend less time working with an entirely separate code for last gen fixes. Last gen also consists of less than 10% of the playerbase. It's just a moneysink worrying about last gen more than they have to. Bungie is, after all, a business. I don't expect film companies to keep producing VHS. I don't expect record companies to keep producing 8-tracks. And I don't expect Bungie to have to keep consistently pushing out fixes for a 10 year old console.
