Why do we have to pay for old exotics?
I don't have a problem paying for content for this game but I want to pay for new content why are exotics that are from D1 not free to everyone? I don't like to scream for everything to be free but I feel old exotics should be. This is my biggest issue with this game atm. Because it seems bungie using old exotics as an excuse to not come up with new ones.

I think they’re concerned about balancing issues and just keeping a cap on what’s going on, in the end i don’t think they’ll bring back all exotics, it appears that they removed heavy machineguns from the game for good, i know it would be nice if they brought all the guns from D1 into D2 but i think that was part of the reason they made D2 in the first place, it gives them a new drawing board that isn’t already cluttered with older content.

You know these aren't actually guns that Bingo has sitting around in a warehouse, right? They can't just send DeeJ to the back to grab the Suros. They have to rewrite the code for D2.

2 RepliesI understand the argument, what I don't get is why people are so butthurt about it. It's not like they packaged all the D1 exotics in a D1 eververse package and sold it to you separately. They're weapons in a shooting game, there are hundreds of total weapons and only a few were brought forward. I've NEVER even SEEN a sequel to a video game where you get ANY gear carried forward from the first game, it's not a reasonable thing to EXPECT to get. Why aren't you salty about having to buy nova bombs again? Why aren't you salty about having to buy sparrows again? What's the flippin' difference?

You didn't pay a dime for any old exotics. If the old exotics had been left out of D2 Vanilla, CoO, and Warmind, they would've still cost what they did. If Bungie had packaged them up and sold them as a $20 exotic pack, you'd have a point. Stop wanting shit for free.

More entitlement. Sorry bud but you don't [u]own[/u] any content in this game. You own the right to play and use the content. This is such a minor thing within the cost of the Expansion that its seriously pathetic to complain about. If you're not going to be satisfied with anything they do why are you still here? This 'feedback' does nothing to improve the game. It only serves to sling more mud.

3 Repliesso many people have no idea of what they speak. how are they selling these items back to you? do you know what that means? the items are included in the price of a DLC. selling something back to you would be this: I take your car from you, then tell you give me money and you can have it back. item is sold to you. you paid for a use of Bungie's property, you own nothing in the game. items are not sold to you on an individual pricing, you are mistaken here.

They are available to everyone. Certain quest exotics are not, but as long as an exotic from any source can be grabbed? It will contain what it shows when you inspect it. Even before I purchased the recent expansion again on my new PS4 I knew I could get the old exotics.

You have to keep in mind some people want to see old exotics from D1 return. Which I am OK with. I do however want more focus on new exotics. I don't really see a reason that they should be free to everyone though. They maybe exotics from d1, but its still content for the dlc.

This is a solid business plan for them though. - get rid of a bunch of items and various game features from D1 - create as little new content as possible (copy/paste and reuse old stuff as much as possible) - and so they don't need to try and be creative, slowly introduce all the things you removed from D1 back into D2 to keep the update schedule full

I still miss Heart of the Praxic Fire and Last word though. Not sure how they could justify charging for them.

2 RepliesThey made such a big deal about our gear in the tower being destroyed and they just want to sell it back to us. The worst part for me is they attach these quests to the weapons to make them feel like a big deal but they either wind up being bad (Rat King) or same old (Mida Multi Tool) and what was The Sleeper Sim quest about. Think about how dumb The Ace of Spades is going to be it wasn't that good in it's prime but here they are trying to make it feel special when one of it's perks doesn't exist anymore.

The ratio of good new guns and old fear they bring back needs to be a lot higher. Then it would be a problem. Now it just looks like they took d1, took all our stuff away, changed supers and added a few more peices of gear.

Bungie is an infinite loop of of lies, the game started like D1 boring and bland, but at least they started with random rolls, bungie took everything you owned and now they want you to buy their DLC to get and grind for your old gear back. I swear most of you people have a disease That your not excepting the truth about what Activision and Bungie are doing. THE SAME BAD PRACTICES WILL BE IN DESTINY 3. Stop buying the DLC and look how bungie gives you your old stuff back for free. To get you back Into their cash grabbing claws.

Be that as it may, but on the other hand, playing Devils advocate in the Light of old exotics i have to say they are in fact, Not only..but also,In the first place, kind of, Partially, in a sense, by the Same Token, by definition, comparatively, new exotics. Lol they dont have the same perks as before or nodes..and the ttk makes them "feel" different and act unlike the D1 versions. Plus the new mod system and masterwork tunning will make them eveen more unique than what we had in D1. Year 1 TravelerBaby here😋

4 RepliesThis argument... You think because you already had a similar weapon in D1 you are just getting the same gun for another fee. Well, that's a Slippery slope, you could then argue that since you have guardians like you did in D1 you should get those free too, The reality is there are no laws or precedence that say just because you had something in a previous version, that it will be free in the next version... why do you pay for old exotics? Idk, because your a consumer and you got tricked. I think it was a lazy decision to add the old exotics, but people DID ask for them, and you know why you bought the game, don't act like you don't...

Well, with the way Bungie is now, it’s either old exotics or no exotics. Being realistic, I’d rather old exotics.
