110% agree.
It's one of the many reasons I'm not getting Forsaken because I'm sick of Bungie expecting us to be grateful for returning Exotics (among other things) when they shouldn't have taken anything away.

Omitting having to buy another expansion to gain access to them, it kinda fits what story line there is. City gets destroyed, barely survive, lose all the previous gear, eventually end up somewhere that seems old and decrepit enough that there is still lost lewt there from before the city fell.
