If Bungie and Activi$ion announce that year one legendaries and exotics will not have a upgrade path, will you continue to play destiny?
Edit 1: For those who would stay... Imagine having to completely replace your exotic armory. Every exotic would be useless except for PvP.
Edit 2: We are trending! :D
Edit 3: We Broke 1,000! This is my biggest post yet! Thank you all for your input!

Gotta move on

They Are nerfing Black Hammer. Why would they Do that If you couldn't bring it to the year two damage Level? If it was stuck at 365, Nobody would use it Anyway After they've received TTK snipers. Think about it. Why would they feel the need to nerf it If it wasn't upgradable?
-
Exotics will remain upgradable
-
Not prepared to do all that grind again for it to be taken away again in another year
-
Weapons - eh... Actual amount of content in TTK is how I will decide.
-
That would be great.
-
As long as I can upgrade my exotics I would be fine leaving my legendaries behind.
-
It would keep it fresh to have new weapons. Year 1 weapons for year 1 activities, year 2 weapons for year 2 activities makes sense to me
-
I'll stay, but they need to clarify right now. Will I lose my exotic weapons or will can I take them with me to TTK, no one seems to know, we need answers.
-
Don't see exotics ever not being upgraded. Legendaries are iffy. Might be better for a fresh slate unless they learn to balance then in right. But the new weapons might just make you want to switch anyway. Some perks I've seen make them seem worth it.
-
I would be pissed about exotics but i think it would definitely a good thing if we can't
-
I can't see them allowing us to upgrade Fatebringer and VoC in the future, at all.
-
I would keep some weapons, purely for sentimental value (SUROS, THE SWARM) but new/stronger enemies require new/stronger weaponry to knock them down & if that means using a new weapon then so be it.
Definitely liking those HAKKE weapons
-
So long as exotics go forward, there is no reason to leave behind all other exotics because new ones come along
-
They may keep current legendaries the way they are but they sure as hell won't leave current exotics behind as well, I mean unless they plan on replacing every single current exotic with new ones, they will literally be taking away from the game.
-
I think what would be a good idea is that all weapons you've upgraded at the end of year 1 could continue to be upgraded further and weapons that haven't been upgraded by the end of year 1 can't.
-
I'll find something I can do great with Not to sound cocky but I usually do. I used to play gun game and sharpshooter a lot on the call of duty games so I can adapt pretty well. Plus I'm sure the exotic armor and weapons will be upgradable and there's most likely always going to be elemental primary weapons. While Fatebringer is amazing, I'll get used to another elemental hand cannon or arc primary.

Edited by Malovi: 7/24/2015 6:46:53 PMI'm willing to bet that year 1 legendary weapons will not be upgradeable past 365, otherwise who would bother getting and using the new guns in the new system (different talent grids for different weapon manufacturers is neat). While it is still very possible that year 1 exotics may be left in the dust, I have to wonder why they would even bother making specific buffs and nerfs to them in a patch that is apparently coming out when TTK launches if they will more or less become obsolete upon the first legendary drop you get. Sure, in several pvp modes all guns are more or less balanced from a damage perspective but it still seems like a lot of effort to go through to balance weapons that will really only be useful in those pvp modes. I'm optimistic that they will bring existing exotic weapons forward rather than simply wipe the slate clean.

I think that Exotics should be upgradable, not Raid weapons. Instead, the old raids should replace that old Fatebringer that starts at 200-something attack with one that starts at the new level. Give people a reason to rerun the raids. If you included a process to just upgrade the raid weapons, no one would run the raids.
-
They need to leave them behind, it gets boring using the same guns for every thing
-
Why would they rebalance weapons if they're going to make them obsolete?
-
Has anyone on the Destiny forums ever played an MMO before
-
Exotics won't be replaced
-
You forgot cry in your list
-
Exotics won't go away that'd be stupid to nerf and buff them only to have them become obsolete. Non exotics are up for question though
