Bungie either is in damage control and too far in to turn back OR simply doesn't care that we are onto them and can read between the lines of their 'word wall'. It has simply become predicatble for Bungie to create hype only to be disappointed and let down later. It's their M.O. now and far too obvious.
This is a brief 'tip of the iceburg' analogy of why players like myself are taking our time (oh, the time, right?) and money elsewhere.
#1. Still random Eververse loot with event based loot caps. The HALLMARK of Destinys cash cow FPS casino.
2. Mayem being saved to entice players to come back for the money grabbing seasonal events, even though players begged and petitioned to keep it. The same could be said for other game modes and small, simple things like synth and the like. Bungie doesn't even acknowlege petitions they don't like and won't even respond to them.
3. Bungies public admittance that the original game was chopped up only to be trickled out at a slower drip so that they didn't have to make more content stating that Eververse would be how they make money instead. Even if they slightly tweak it for normal periods to make it seem "more fair" between seasonal events, the random based slot machine is still very much in tact and will never be an honest , simple store front, THIS is NEVER going away. So YES, even if you don't buy anything it HAS affected you as being more of a focus and prority than the game content.
4. The ongoing slaughter of Bungies Halo 'Golden Age' reputation. When Bungie was founded, their motto was a "player first" mantra that permeated throughout their history with Halo. Enter Destiny,we all smelled something in the air early on with their backpeddling PR and bits of discarded truth along the way, but we were happy with the progression of the game and kept our hopes up despite this fact. Now with this anemic DLC and the discovery of XP throttling and loot nerfing, we realize it was to frustrate players to give into the Eververse model and spend real money. A FAR CRY from the honest, straightforward Halo days of just making a good game with the player as the central focus to sell units and content 'honestly'.
There's other small details, but with enough digging , even if you don't realize it, your gameplay and experience have been negatively effected with the purposeful and deceptive retention and monetisation of content. This has been their focus for quite awhile since the early days of Everpurse, but now it's just ever so obvious to anyone who's checked facts and why Bungie keeps getting caught with their pants down.
Bungie sold a vision and decided to renig and exploit it instead. You guys are the worst. So long.
PS. If you're still playing, good for you, but watch the player base drop anyways. And to all the trolls of any kind, do yourself a favor and save your canned, juvenile insults for someone who gives a sh!t. My notices are turned off and I won't read or have the displeasure of responding to anyones simple minded nonsense and feel good one liner quips....or even know that you ever existed for that matter. Farewell to all and hope the best for everyone, whatever your opinion. It was fun for a minute.
PPS. Games I'll be playing instead.
Halo 5: Firefight- It's gotten so much better, vehicles, OP weapons, bosses. 8 to 24 players at once.
Alienation- A top down shooter but with weapon classes, upgrades, reloads and special powers. plays like a top down Destiny/ Halo shooter. Way better than exspected with local and online co-op. Sry, PS4 only.
Gears Of War 4. So far the best in the franchise with local and online co-op. You get to shoot saw blades too, nuff said.

Based on my friends list, fortnite is why.

I can sum it up with a single sentence. People don't want to go through a Destiny 1 again.
-
Players are abandoning destiny because THEY, the players put the game on this path and are running away to avoid recognizing any responsibility they bare. Sure, there were 3-4 true issues in D1 related to balance. But, it was forum whining that did this to Destiny 2. Nearly every major handed to gameplay in D2 was a result of D1 community.
-
Main reason: because the community will not stfu with their crybaby complaints. If i was bungie i would ignore them too.
-
No one is currently abandoning destiny anymore, we've already gone. The decline leveled out a few weeks ago at 1 mil players. You guys that are left will NEVER drop destiny lol

Nope Try again

How about "A very brief synopsis"... Yeah, this game sucks.
-
A briefer summary... the game sucks.

Destiny 1 and Bungie had a vision. A 10 year plan and lots of what seemed like very achievable goals. But they ran into problems with content delivery and mechanics. They couldn't decide if they wanted to be a FPS/MMO or a PVP/competative game. But players stuck around for the years of lie's in the hope they could figure it out. Then came Destiny 2. A complete reboot that killed the entire idea of the 10-year dream and ever expanding world. They then decided that Destiny was now a collection game. Then we learn that content is too hard to create for the game and be able to deliver in a realistic and timely fashion. Destiny 1 was a blast and a great game at the end. Destiny 2 is a mediocre at best FPS with no depth or inticing gameplay mechanics. All guns are pretty much exactly like another. All armour is exactly like the other with only cosmetic changes. Exotics are super un-fun. (Except for a couple). PVP is trash The game is just not fun. It gives players no real reason to play. except to collect worthless and un inspired gear. Even the boring azz sparrows are 99% lokkalikes with differnet paint and shaders. Destiny 2 is just a lazy attempt at a game. No matter how you look at it, it is just plain lazy. Osiris is the pennacle of super lazy . Some people have speculated that Bungie is actually trying to kill the franchise to get away from Activision. If so? They are doing a good job. Bungies reputation is what is really being destroyed at this point. Sad too. They had so much potential.

For me it is because of everything they took away from D1. They launched a stripped down lazy casual Destiny that they thought we would like and clearly most of us do not... Random Rolls, kiosks, pvp options, strike specific loot, raid specific loot, pvp and vanguard specific loot, factions and the list goes on and on. Top it all off with Eververse having way too much inventory and the entire game is a let down. But I suppose the bright side is that eventually they will give us a lot of stuff back and while it is a slap in the face to begin with because it never should have been removed it is better than nothing?

Bearbeitet von merlynbrit: 1/13/2018 7:09:41 PMThe biggest reason I feel is that there is no point to D2. The thrill of chasing OP loot through dozens of raid runs has been neutered. Whether it was it was hard to balance PvP around kickass exotics, or to appeal to players who don’t have the time to invest, the loot has grown watered down and become easier to obtain. At this same point in D1, there were only a few ways to get exotics right? Nightfall, the two raids, random drops or the exotic bounties. Now there are the random drops, clan rewards, PvP rewards, individual rewards, the raid and a half, and the planetary exotic quests. Forever 29 incentivized people to play, max power after a week and bored clearly doesn’t.

Well said, OP. This game is hemorrhaging players and the white knight fanboys turn on any of their own that have criticisms towards the game. They are doing more harm than they realize, soon there will be no one left to help them through the raid.
-
No one seems to be bring it up but anyone else see how dmg or cozmo are nowhere to be found on the forums now that they released their "amazing" update notes
-
The truth: Bungie is an over-rated developer.
-
'cause it's shit
-
TLDR: Because the game is shit
-
D2 is clearly not ready to be D2. There’s nothing D2 about it.

A "brief" synopsis......:
-
That wasn't brief.. I have many issues with destiny 2.. I recently started a second character, a warlock, and discovered something I can only describe as shocking.. In just one day I got to level 25, light.. Sorry, power.. above 300 with all 3 subclasses.. Would have taken me at least a week to do the same in destiny 1. ? ? That's how you keep it brief.

Nobody cares about Eververse. The reason why casual players (most of the playerbase) leave is that there is nothing to do for them. Raids are inaccessible for newcomers and are nerve wrecking. Trials and crucible feels like a punishment for the regular joe, not to mention timed Nightfalls. Add something to progress and enjoy for the regular joe and maybe some on my casual clan come back and play again.
My notices are turned off and I won't read or have the displeasure of responding to anyones simple minded nonsense and feel good one liner quips
Well... That's my day out the window.

Brevity cries this night, for she had been wronged.

I'm just glad you edited your title. Thank you.

Personally, it’s the weapon system. Two primaries and shoving “specials” into Heavy was a terrible idea.
