Please, nerf them to the ground.
I do not want another entire season that revolves around 95% of people just using hand cannons. Give some other primary a chance.
I am tired of being killed by them, and tired of having to use them.

18 RepliesEdited by Soupreem: 3/3/2022 8:34:53 AMUsing guardian.gg since that's the easiest to identify broad weapon types. On Quickplay: PC: 34% of all weapon kills are from a Hand Cannon PS: 34% Xbox: 30% Survival knocks this down a few percentage points, generally having them hover around 30% of kills. But the point is any other weapon in Destiny would've been all but removed from the game in a mid-season hotfix for even half of this level of oppression. See 600 ARs in Arrivals. They were nerfed back into dumpster tier with Beyond Light, and they weren't even the most used type of primary. Also consider that HCs the last week of Trials before Witch Queen, HCs more than doubled literally all other primaries combined. And that's with pre-nerf DMT in play. For the health of PvP, HCs really really need to be nerfed. Take off some range, cut the flinch by a pretty good amount, have minor compensation for 120s, and directly buff 180s in other places.

Edited by iZnth: 3/4/2022 7:18:51 AMI can’t believe we still have to have this conversation. Hand cannons will always be meta given their burst damage potential. The top players will always gravitate towards them because they can peek shoot, do combos and, together with a shotgun or sniper, cover a lot of engagement distance. It is not a power problem, it is an almost unavoidable PvP mainstay. You could nerf them to the point where there is no option but to abandon them, sure, but you’d lose an entire weapon class while the best Crucible players would dominate with something else. The weapon meta itself is actually very well balanced at the moment with plenty of competitive loadouts. Hand cannons just rise to the top due to how they deliver damage.

Edited by hate n payne: 3/4/2022 12:39:50 PMThey will not touch their precious. It represents the elitism of PVP in so called skill usage. 😂😂😂😂😂 Remember when the range for them got nerfed. Players panicked hard as if other weapons were not usable.

No, hc most fun to use. /end thread.

24 RepliesNope, hand cannons should always be optimal, go play a spray gun pvp shooter in cod if you wanna main ars
-
6 RepliesYou have three thousand kills in the entirely of the nearly five years this game has been out. You do not play crucible enough to have an opinion on balance. Go work on yourself, and you’re .80, and shut up.

21 RepliesEdited by may967873: 3/4/2022 12:46:29 AMYou have zero logic, it’s the the player not the guns, True Vanguard for example drops we rans with pulse rifles and sidearms on the regular

I’m just going to say that nerfing any class of weapons would not change a thing at all. Other weapons would still find a way to take the throne because people that know how to use any weapon is going to be good with it. You can out gun a hand cannon with a pulse or a high rpm scout. There are always loadouts to combat others.
-
Other weapons compete just fine with how HCs are right now.

4 RepliesI tried using an auto rifle just for fun yesterday, it was extremely difficult to do well with a monte Carlo or my gnawing hunger. Not only do I need to land almost 99% of my shots in headshots but I’m also getting flinched left and right by hand cannons, it feels impossible to outplay a hand cannon using an auto rifle even when I land my shots first. I had to switch to my SMG since thats the only rapid fire weapon archetype with a good ttk and forgiveness that allows me to melt a hand cannon user. Auto rifles desperately need a buff, I know we all meme on auto rifle meta but does it hurt to buff auto rifles to a viable state? Idk why bungie makes auto rifles broken or straight up trash. There really is an equal ground but They refuse to buff that area. An atuo rifle that lands all headshots has a tkk of about .8, as soon as you land even one body the ttk goes up to a full second. What auto rifles need is an increase in body shot damage so it has more forgiveness. That way it can keep its ttk without breaking the game and becoming another auto rifle meta

8 Repliesyou know 4 of the top 5 most used guns in PVP arnt even HC right now right? if you look at top 20 they dont even represent 25%. its a fairly open meta right now, HC are just a fan favorite. try the new pulse rifle from season 16, SMG's are strong, couple good AR's right now too. it just takes finding the right one for you, dont right off a gun cause its not what other people use.
-
540 Pulses are heavily slept on atm, at least on console. With the right roll, they are very spooky.

1 Replyall i see is shotguns and fusion rifles i wish i had primary fights, but its all exclusively special weapons.
-
Stop being an easy target will ya? I’ve been destroyed by smg and dmt users when I was not positioned correctly with a HC.

5 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 3/3/2022 3:26:21 PMPeople use Handcannons in your matches? All I ever fight are shotguns and fusions.

Everyone here that says hand cannons are easy to use or agree there should be a nerf are guaranteed 0.8 or lower. If you think spraying and sitting in the back with an auto or pulse takes more effort than landing every single shot to the head for max ttk and recorrecting your aim for every shot due to recoil, and still having a lower ttk value than pulses and autos, you are not one to talk about pvp. Generally good players prefer them. They’re good for peek shooting. They’re nicely paired with a shotgun. They get out ranged, outflinched, and dpswise outperformed by other primaries. If you call for a nerf of hand cannons simply because the people that usually beat you use them, you haven’t really put any thought into it. You will generally lose to good players every time if you are a 0.8 otherwise known as trash at the game. Based on the good players’ preferences, most of them use hand cannons, not because they’re better, but they better suit their play style and they are more enjoyable and skillful to use than other primaries. The reason you feel like you lose to hand cannons more is because you do. Good players usually use hand cannons because they’re good enough to slay out with them. Bad players that you can beat generally pick easier weapons like auto rifles, witherhoard, pulse rifles, fusion rifles, etc because they are much more straight forward for the simpler minded or people that don’t want to really try when they play. It’s just how it is. You’re gonna feel like you always lose to the weapon whereas you would have lost no matter what they use because a 2.0 will always beat a 0.8 and usually they run hand cannons. If we 1v1 I will 20-0 you no matter your loadout and I’m on old gen xbox one still. Chill out. Get better. Learn more about the game and countering good players. It’s not the hand cannons that make you lose when you don’t think through your engagements and know how to bait people and outsmart them. Pvp is more than just shooting targets. Maybe you need to think when you play rather than releasing your inner auto turret :)

16 Replies1) they've been nerf'd so many times, I've lost count 2) Any halfway decent PvP knows it's not the weapon, it's the user 3) If you don't know how to work around those using HC's, maybe it's more on you. To be blunt, if you're tired of being killed by them, it's more productive to learn what to do against them, than to complain about every little thing because Crucible doesn't always go our way.
-
1 ReplyIt’s incredibly boring because everyone will be using the same -blam!- weapon. The most aim assist huge hitbox in game, yet according to some , it’s a skilled gun
-
It's not so much that they're strong, they are also very easy to use. Any amount of AA makes most hand cannons point and shoot. You can fool the AA easy with an HC by ADS spam before every shot. In most fights people don't even care that they're getting hit. They'll just push through knowing they're likely to win.

1 ReplyIf you ever play the sweats 9 times outta 10 their using HC/Shotty. Haha i'm the exception though. 😂

As much as I love my crimson, I’d be okay with some of the other weapons in the game shown some love.
