First major props to Cozmo for engaging so many people's questions in this thread. Nice to have a community manager who doesn't just post and leave. As for my initial take. I like more than I hate. The changes to ARs and Pulse Rifles should make the Low RoF fun like Vanilla again and Suros looks sick Know people wanted hand cannons to get stability buff. Hawkmoon at least is with its range increase. Sunsingers weren't hit as hard as I feared and firebolt not at all, mostly just flange shield. Also some other perks were buffed. Stormcallers might have gotten wrecked though. Snipers were barely touched. MIDA nerf was dumb and will only affect PvE. TLW was killed, but Dregs is going to be disgusting. And Fusions are supposedly getting buffed. We'll see what the full notes show, but they got a good bit right at least.

  • This turned out a lot worse than even I expected, and it should be noted I had extremely low expectations. Solo players were just handed a much harder path (PvE heavy nerf because... why?). Apparently we're supposed to primary only bosses (after all, snipers just got hit on ammo, too), except now we are mostly nerfing primaries. Damn. Damndamndamn. I can't defend these jackasses. I really, REALLY hate having my intelligence insulted by them, saying things like "Heavies just feel different when you have more ammo". I know, DeeJ. That word you're looking for is "effective", or maybe "viable".

        • IDK, this weapon balance pretty much proves that the guy doing to weapon balancing has no facking idea what he's doing...just because a weapon is used more doesn't mean you nerf it, you balance the other weapons to counter, not treat it like a spell, or an attribute in WoW...he's taking the easy way out and nerfing a single weapon just so he can come into the office, collect a paycheck and nothing more, the guy probably already has another job lined up tbh, I see this kind of stuff all the time in enterprise environments, when one guy is fed up and wants to leave, they always take the easy way out to collect a paycheck and move onto the next job so they can be happy again, I can almost guarantee that's what this guy is doing.

Every Nerf, balance, change, switch, modification, removal......ALL have increased game play. PVE and PVE ARE NOT THE SAME. You play both differently, you use different weapons, the very fundamentals of how you act/react/shoot/move are ALL DIFFERENT. Either your developers are either too ignorant to realize that making changes that hurt one game type to buff another is not something that a game developer of your stature should be doing, or you have consciously made the decision that trying to separate PVE and PVP changes are not worth the resources to perform.                 Cozmo, you seem to be actively entertaining responses to this thread, I hope you don't mind me asking a few questions. If these are planned to be answered in TW@B tomorrow, no worries. How much are the ammo reserves of hand cannons being buffed? I got a really great roll on an Imago Loop a couple months ago, but haven't been able to take it into King's Fall because it only carries 55 in reserve. Similarly, if you play-tested this, how common are special and heavy ammo drops in PvE? Were you able to feel comfortable using something like a shotgun extensively, or would you run out of ammo more often than before (with the now-decreased ammo reserves). Was it "about the same" as it is now? How much were resurrection overshields reduced by? Additional info about how Voidwalker was changed would be nice. In the stream, they were rather brief and vague. (EDIT: Did Fabian Strategy get nerfed, because the "Front Lines" exotic perk switched it to a high RoF autorifle?) Lastly. Super, ridiculously hard question here... Is the new Dreg's Promise fun?

                • Bungie has been wanting this game to be a team base pvp game....... They prove this by every update they do.... Everyone that gets upset about pve and solo play hits... It's time to move on, I did, they are plenty of games out right now that do solo/pve play out right now..... Want to play pvp with your friends and get shit on by 12 year olds then go crazy on crucible, but you want story and pve game play? Play something else.

                • So, as I watched them discuss the changes, players in the back ground had to practically stand still to get kills. Last word and mida are now garbage. Suros and fusions are the new meta. And for all of us pve players who focus on the toughest end game content. Snipers and machine guns are toast. People complained about year 1 weapons and even those got screwed. The only last thing left is swords. I'm sure their next

                  • I'm gonna comment later on what I think the positive changes (because there are a good amount) are and what I don't like (not as much as I thought there'd be).                     • I say all the time how I love MIDA. I like that it's still a 4 shot headshot. I hate that they removed the high-cal rounds, but ONLY because that'll mean no flinch to enemies in PvE. Since, you know, Bungie doesn't know the difference. I honestly couldn't care less that it doesn't cause as much flinch in PvP; I can adapt to that.

                        • The biggest issue for me would be why not just affect the ammo carry capacity in PVP.... leave the weapon operate the same, but allow the clip and backpack reserves be extended in PVE?

                          • You know what. I didn't use 1K stare. My girlfriend liked shotguns and so did I. But the Eirene is a nice sniper it's not close quarters kind of gun but it's nice. I main a warlock but I knew some nerfs were coming. Nerfs come every update because of the community. I wish it was buffs every update. But I won't hold a grudge anymore. I'm over it. I'm only playing this game until they release Destiny 2. Then I'm moving on to other games.

                            Mida will be affected in PvP. The fusions looked like they were shooting lazers again. Storm callers are going to stop spamming the lightning button, seems pretty fair. Not sure about the Rez changes, can't wait to try it. I think the special ammo update will be good over all as long as they do drop more bricks in PvE. My prediction is that the next nerf post will include, Red Death, Surros, Fusions, snipers and Dregs promise. Almost forgot Hawkmoon.

                              Overall a moderate facts based balance pass that fine tunes without major impact to perceived performance. Sure there will be heated debate, there always is, but this will die down in a few days as folks come to grips with the actual effect of these tweaks and find the game has again steadily improved. Enjoyed the stream ..... thx tithe devs for there info session and effort the improve a hobby I thorough enjoy :)
