This turned out a lot worse than even I expected, and it should be noted I had extremely low expectations.
Solo players were just handed a much harder path (PvE heavy nerf because... why?). Apparently we're supposed to primary only bosses (after all, snipers just got hit on ammo, too), except now we are mostly nerfing primaries.
Damn. Damndamndamn. I can't defend these jackasses. I really, REALLY hate having my intelligence insulted by them, saying things like "Heavies just feel different when you have more ammo".
I know, DeeJ. That word you're looking for is "effective", or maybe "viable".

Touch of Malice just became even more of a "must have" for the raid, spindle, 1000YS won't be viable with a reduction in ammo, or its a flip from primary to special technique. I often flip to HQ Terminus to Oryx in the shade when special ammo dries up. Something tells me the glitchy (yes very glitchy lately) raid will become even harder. Who runs for special when they are planted shooting Warpriest?
-
Exactly
-
And the terrible RNG system will not be fixed, so you can still expect to get lvl 300 gear in hard raids, even after completing the challenges
-
They had no nerf to primaries in there, just some specific exotics, they were unnecessary but almost unnoticeable in PvE (mida will still b a very viable option) also they increased sniper ammo drops and in most PvE boss fights, if not every one, u fight a bunch of adds so this will make u almost never run out of ammo, almost a sniper buff PvE wise
-
Oh, about those primaries? Wrong. HRoF ARs are hit, along with Mida.
-
I forgot about the slight 1 damage nerf to high RoF ARs oops, like that's going to kill that gun. Mida they took away high caliber rounds, not gonna do a bunch to PvP or PvE play at all
-
Edited by ironBill: 4/7/2016 12:46:46 AMHeh. Remember that last "0.04%" buff to ARs last round? Sure got people butthurt over guns like DoP. I would consider that number small, but a lot of people (you?) think that's game breaking. Now you're trying to tell me a 1% won't be felt. Right. Remember Suros Regime? That only had 2% taken off the base, and guys like you said it wouldn't matter. Thing was, by the time all factors were added up the Suros took almost a 15% hit. It disappeared overnight. I'll tell you what I said to those jokers over a year ago; no nerf is small. If it won't be felt, why do it at all? If you don't feel it, count on it, Bungie will hit it until you do. Bank on that. But let's cut to the chase; the argument isn't "will it be noticed?", rather "why was it done at all?" Why was ANYTHING in PvE diminished? What possible justification can there be?
-
As stated above, I would rather have that ammo in my reserve than to have to race into a thick cloud of shielded ads to collect those numerous crates at their feet. Fact is, it was unnecessary and uncalled for in PvE, and there's no defending it.
-
Why not just make destiny a PVP only game? It'd be a lot easier than trying to come up with ways to make PVE less enjoyable.
-
Lol nice one
-
That must be part of the new paradigm too. "PvE was played a lot lately. How do we make PvE less popular?"
-
Now you're catching on!!
-
Especially if we solo as Warlocks, because while I agree that the PvP aspect of Warlocks needed work, we're completely useless in PvE now.
-
Now you have a reason to use Ruin Wings
-
after all, snipers just got hit on ammo, too
Ammo drops in PVE are getting buffed.
-
Or maybe stop -blam!-ing pve over because of pvp changes
-
And how does that help when you can't hold more than a handful of rounds at a time? Oh, wait. It just artificially extends the grind in PvE and ruins PvP. Now I see why you're so happy.
-
who runs for ammo when you're all standing team shooting Warpriest or Golgoroth?
-
Edited by chemlord11: 4/7/2016 9:53:27 AMOh ok sort of like when bungie said they would increase the drop rate for heavy back when crota was the end game raid. Oh wait I think we all know how that went. Now not only are you only saying that special ammo is buffed to offset (meaning heavy ammo is now officially a mythic drop) we can expect the same issues from the crota raid for special AND heavy. Joy because we all remember how fun that was right?
-
Add the perk to all of the sniper rifles that any "special" ammo crates that are sniped are added to our inventory and then you will have compensated PVE for the inventory you have removed. Remember, snipers are supposed to be long range weapons. That means those ammo crates may not be accessible until long after we have run out of sniper ammo. Here is another thought, reduce the timer on special ammo synth to two minutes. I don't mind paying Glimmer for it as long as I can use it in a timely manner.
-
What about when I'm standing in the aura shooting Warpriest. Is special/heavy ammo going to drop inside there? Raid machine gun holds barely any ammo now. We're going to dump all our heavy and special ammo into Warpriest and then stand there plinking away with primaries until the timer expires so we can go kill ads and pick up ammo. It seems increasingly obvious that this artificially increases the difficulty of content.
-
Edited by BigTexB007: 4/7/2016 12:51:08 AMAre you guys preparing us for a new Exotic armor perk "Special Ammo Seeds of Ruin"? Cause you seem to be creating a need. And, FYI, taking away a chunk of guaranteed special ammo in reserve is NOT offset by an increased RNG chance at Special Ammo drops. You can keep your buffed Special Ammo drops. Let me keep my reserve ammo as is.
-
That remains to be seen. Allegedly, ruin wings are supposed to increase heavy drops but I have not witnessed that.
-
Unless those ammo drops are going to fall directly on our heads while we're shooting Golgoroth, that is "let them eat cake" level contempt for your PvE players.
-
Love that phrase. Exactly right, too.
