It’s genuinely the worst it’s ever been. Nothing but sweat load outs, insanely laggy matches, and teammates leaving literally every game.
The simple solution: REVERT BACK TO CBMM.
Sbmm is a giant dumpster fire and it needs to revert now!

As a trash can pvp player. No matter what Bungie does both sides will complain.

2 RepliesHate to tell you this but If CBMM was the answer and it worked well then they would not have switched away from it. Is the new system perfect out of the gate? No, but they said that it wouldn't be and that they will be making adjustments once they get enough real world data to make a decision on what to adjust. I will say that there needs to be something done to reduce or mitigate the impact of people leaving matches, but people have been leaving matches long before this season. I think that there are 2 "simple" things that they could do. 1) People joining mid match get the passive super energy that they would have received if they were in the match from the start. This would hopefully reduce the frequency of those players also leaving. 2) Provide some buff to the team that has fewer players. The strength of the buff is dynamic based on the difference in team sizes. a 1 player difference (5v6, 4v5, etc) would grant a. minimal buff, while a 5 player difference (1v6) would provide the strongest buff. The concept of this is to prevent the shorthanded team from getting completely steamrolled while waiting for others to join.

Seems like a good majority are fed up with crucible already lol

1 ReplyEdited by Veldrin: 8/30/2022 7:09:51 AMIsn't the peer to peer connection the main problem and the focus on ability spam? I mean other games have SBMM as well, so it can't be the sole reason, except if it's implemented badly. Also SBMM is only active for comp and control, or am I wrong? I only played mayhem for the seasonal challenge though.

2 RepliesJust be terrible or don't care, and it is all the same. You're welcome.

Edited by Spawn Of Apathy: 8/30/2022 1:40:59 PMMy matches so far have been pretty good. Which they were the last time there was SBMM. Matchmaking times are the same. Connection quality is the same. Games have a more back and forth feel to them. There also feels like there is more weapon diversity, with hand cannons actually being rare in the games I played. Snipers and shotguns also seemed rarer. But you do you. You’re not likely to appear in my lobbies anyways. Maybe Bungie will take the right lessons from some of you boycotting and make some Improvements, some concessions. I don’t want them to bring CBMM 100% of the time, but I’m sure there are things that can be done to improve your experience.

Never going to happen buddy. Bungie clearly spelt out their long term objectives for crucible and SBMM is in the mix to stay. Its not the same as D1 and they are going to continue to monitor and tweak it moving forward but it is here to stay.

Edited by OleHead315: 8/30/2022 12:29:14 PMNo , you boycott or leave destiny permanently. Go play another game, btw they have sbmm too. You already pre ordered light fall too, you aint going nowhere, you’ll be crying for years here.

Edited by duckbomb1: 8/30/2022 12:06:28 PMI agree with the sentiment. If you aren’t having fun then don’t play the mode. It’s the ONLY metric Bungie cares about, and the only action to drive change. It’s literally the only thing you can actually do.

1 ReplyIf SBMM puts you with nothing but sweats, guess what you are.

I’ve already boycotted it (but not because of matchmaking).

2 RepliesLet's not and say we did.

10 RepliesNot a chance. Matches are way more even..don't punish those wanting fair and balanced matches, improve the system to discourage people being able to duck out because they don't want the same or they wanted to roll some newbies. If the previous system proved anything its that it wasn't the answer. Simple, stop people leaving or punish those that do. Problem solved, then they face teams or people in their same skill range which will hopefully provide an enjoyable challenge for players on both teams.

Nah, after experiencing SBMM working as intended I would fully quit PvP if they want back to CBMM.
-
9 RepliesSo what you're want easier and expect lessee skilled players to get better which can't do yourself? You know it's not laggy. You're just using it as an excuse.
-
You can do it. I'm going to, I'm kinda done with this and I loved the crucible but they haven't put any effort into it in like 3 or 4 years.
-
12 RepliesCBMM with lobby balancing**
-
Does it matter? Be it cbmm or sbmm, nothing will work with this community we never compromise and find common ground where both sides can be happy it’s someone’s way or not at all. The crucible will always be on fire im afraid, there’s a chance in the future but at the moment nothing will work. Sod’s law and all that.
