Lunge isn’t a big loss in pve, you also gain glaive damage.
The lunge was removed because in pvp lunge range breaks the game, it’s genuinely hard to shoot someone with stacked lunge range, might as well change the lore to say you blink towards your opponent, won’t be missed, any lunge range should’ve left a long time ago.

That only works once, as people realize you’re gonna do that they’re just gonna bait you. I dealt with that before, we just slapped a fusion rifle and called out when we’re being attacked and other teammates just focus the rushers real quick. Also only works when you have the space to do it. Plus most blinkers are genuinely bad at blinking.

They can easily make the changes game mode specific, and have done so in the past. It's just laziness that stops them from doing it.

Bro it’s not hurting pve, I rarely use melee with it. Syntho has no effect on charged melee’s lunge. Bonk hammer, should charge, strand, etc. it doesn’t affect them, only the uncharged melee. Which you won’t be doing on bonk hammer, and arc Titan has knockout.

Well I frequently use the lunge in pve. What you don't do is irrelevant.

Arc, solar, void, and now that uncharged melees can activate war banner, Strand. Stasis just sucks and gets nothing.

And they’re pve enemies, and strand uncharged is just wild, void is 50/50 if you don’t use the aspect. Solar has bonk, rarely do I see anyone use the regular melee. Arc makes sense.

Offensive bulwark, knockout, and roaring flames all benefit from melee lunge range, getting kills quickly and efficiently keeps you alive with a melee build, losing the lunge when you're used to utilizing it to it's fullest feels miserable.

Again though, uncharged solar is weaker than the bonk. Void has overshield and heals, you will easily rush an enemy. Arc has knockout.

That void overshield is quickly stripped off in any relevant content so it benefits from quickly being able to lunge in, gets it's damage off, and spread volatile. You don't have your bonk after you use consecration. Pointing out all of the cookie cutter builds that don't care about the lunge range isn't an argument for removing it, it's an argument AGAINST it.

Most people use those cookie cutter builds, and the lunge is hardly affecting pve. Anyone who genuinely finds an issue just wants to keep the lunge for pvp.

Remove it from pvp. Make synthoceps blow up the user when they melee in pvp. What happens in pvp is irrelevant to this discussion.

It just feels like an unnecessary change when they could have made it PvP specific if it was a PvP problem. We shall see though.

Now with BoW in particular I'm melee'ing non-stop to set up BoW x4 and then refreshing after it wears off. I get that the change may not effect [u]you[/u] or [u]your[/u] play style (other folks have stated the same) but none the less it is undeniably a fairly big change overall to the item itself that will also effect the gameplay of quite a few players. ☺ Not a big deal though, if the changes feel terrible I'll just put on Sweet Business and Actium War Rig. I'll be that guy.😁
