Not sure if this is the place to post, but ill give it a shot anyway. Iv been playing destiny 2 for a few months now, and its been fantastic, however i feel im missing out on some vital parts of the game due to some misguided "unwritten rule". The rule im talking about is of course, mic and comms. Unfortunately i have hearing issue, which means i cant use comms, not effectively anyway. At first glance on the face of it, that doesn't seem like an issue, but i can assure you it plagues me at every turn. Very few (if any) clans will take me on due to my lack communication, im seen as somthing of a liability, which means i play clanless 99% of the time. Anytime i join a group for a dungeon or a raid, im almost immediately kicked out (they don't even let me explain). Case and point, im power level 1593, and iv never completed a dungeon or a raid. There is ofcourse the "guided mode" for raids and dungeons, sadly, they too also have a communications hard requirement. (see attached image). That is ofcourse if you are lucky enough to find a group, it can take a long time, if at all, for a group to show up. If that wasn't bad enough, PVP is somthing of a nightmare at times, clearly im at a disadvantage not being able to hear my opponents correctly. Thats nobody fault, it part of having hearing problems, but when the game decides its a good idea to disable the radar for certain matches, it makes it very difficult for me to do much, simply because i rely on visuals as opposed to sound. With the radar gone, i have little chance of competing effectively. Some may say it would be an unfair advantage for me to have radar when others don't, but in the interest of being fair, you have the luxury of sound, so i have to ask, who is really at an advantage? Im am more than confident that i am in a very very small minority of players with hearing problems, so im not expecting the game to change just for me. I'm just saying it would be nice not have this verbal communication method as a hard requirement, because it simply excludes those who cannot utilize it. But if you want to go a step further, just think how hard its been the last couple of weeks for me, radar disappearing on certain challenges, no comms or mic, and the entire text system was taken offline (for good reason i understand). I was basically 100% mute. Regardless, i will continue to pay and play destiny because i like it so much (iv spent so much money lol), it's just an accessibility issue that i don't think has been fully addressed. What the solution may be, if there even is one, i honestly don't know, but as a someone who cares about the game, i thought it was somthing worth mentioning. Either way, great game, don't worry about those trolls in real life, they don't know what they are talking about.
