New xbox pre order is about a week away and I would like to know if the next gen systems are getting an fov slider. It will literally determine if I get a series x or work towards building a Pc. Can Bungie answer the question?
I'm just buying a PC. It's the same cost as five years of monthly subscription game pass, a new console, and maybe a few games. Warranty, expandability, all around win.

Editado por michael: 9/16/2020 6:57:45 PMI feel like this is what a lot of people forget about console. Yes buying a console is cheaper than buying a PC. But you pay $80 a year just to GO ON THE INTERNET and it adds up. You pay full price for any game released in the past 2 years and it adds up. You burn through an $80 controller every year because they break so easily and it adds up. What if your console breaks? My original PS4 had an undiagnosable issue, no matter how much troubleshooting I did, and taking a console to a repair place you might as well go to an apple store without apple care. So I just bought a PC. On PC you literally save money and got more out of it. I know preference is preference but man I wish I had switched sooner.

Cheaters make pc super unattractive regardless of frame rate. Until cheaters are under control Pc is currently the worst place to play destiny

The people who say cheating is rampant in quickplay are literally mad cuz bad, there are like none.

Same here

Build it, dont buy it. Trust me. I bought a pre-built PC and regretted every moment... so much so that I ended up selling it and built one anyway within a year.
-
Ibuypower has amazing deals during Christmas they will have a great 3070 PC for like 1449. Thats how much mine cost with a 2070 Super, i7 9700kf, 1tb nvme and 16 gb of ram.
-
I still belive in building so you know what are doing if you ever upgrade or replace a part. Plus you can be as picky as you want with cable management.
-
My pc is great and its a pre built for a great price
-
Look guys, I'm not saying buying a pre-built is wrong lol. Im just saying, building is much more fun, possibly cheaper, gives you knowledge of your rig and allows you to be particular with wire management. If its not for you, buy one. It'll still run. But all in all, the experience of building is worth it imo
Build it, dont buy it. Trust me. I bought a pre-built PC and regretted every moment... so much so that I ended up selling it and built one anyway within a year.
That's fair. I was trying to keep it consistent with the buying comparison vs building.
-
Tbh, building is actually cheaper... if you can control yourself when it comes to a budget lol
-
Friend of mine said it’s no longer cheaper to build but instead to buy?
-
Maybe right now with Covid screwing everything up. I cant be sure. But typically builds are always cheaper... and MUCH cleaner.
-
I was told this before covid. He said it has always been cheaper to build but now it’s cheaper to buy pre built. Idk.
-
I built mine back in April. There is no way I buy what I built for the same price

Editado por RussellMania: 9/15/2020 11:06:06 PMOnly because of Game Pass lol, which you could just stop buying. Console is a much cheaper investment overall, especially if you upgrade your PC at all... Which 99.999% of PC gamers do. Just saying. I don’t get why people say PC is a cheaper investment long-term. It just isn’t.
-
Pc is better like its not even a comparison. Consoles will always be locked to some frame rate etc. Not to mention all the best players are on pc. Pc lfg discord is 10000x better than Bungies or Xbox lives.
-
If you can afford the up front investment for a good PC, it’s still ultimately a lot better than console. Not to mention it’ll likely last a few generations worth of consoles as long as you don’t treat it like shit.

Even without Game Pass you can still buy a PC with a game and spend the same.

Editado por RussellMania: 9/16/2020 12:17:27 AMA console is $500, a PC is $1000+ unless you buy used. I don’t understand how you’re saying they’re the same price lol.

Yeah but your pc wont last 10 years and be that great at $1000 . More like 1500 or more. Plus keyboard, mouse, monitor, desk, chair etc. Figure GPU 700, cpu 200, psu 150, MB 175, ram 150, nvme 150, ssd 100, case 100, cooling 100, windows 50, keyboard 50, mouse 50, monitor 400-1000. So really 2000 plus monitor and in 3-4years you'll have to upgrade if you want to beat the next iteration of "pro" console. Or you could spend an extra 700 - 900 coming in at 3k without monitor and be good for the next two gens. So if you have the money go for it. I do but I choose not to. More relaxed playing console, and we don't have nearly as many cheaters.

Keep it apples to apples and it makes sense. You're talking about extending the life of one build with new gpus, when all I'm doing is building throwaways. $1500 is a comparable cost between using a console for 5 years and buying a PC up front for a 5 year lifespan. It's closer to $1k without Game Pass, but without the need for a monitor I can't see spending $2k or more to compete with an Xbox. I don't mean to argue I just don't like the direction console is going. Besides, I wouldn't be buying a PC to play destiny. I'd be returning to my roots playing RTS.

With the base PS4 from 2013 and the psplus member ship I’ve only spent $870. Take into account psplus gives free games every month and the cost of a pc doesn’t seem worth it. No amount of summer sales can beat the word free for AAA games.

All the best players are on pc. I guess if you just do patrols and strikes it doesn't matter.
