yes, but this is practically a triple duplicate, back to back, on the same activity. doesn;t that seem to say it's more than just a coincidence?

Editado por TuxyDoh: 6/8/2020 2:46:23 PMDepending on the level of nightfall exotics are weighted as more common of a drop, armor is typically weighted over weapons, then remove exotics that you do not own dlc for and quest items and then limit to your class so yes, it is common to receive duplicates back to back.

Editado por MtMcK: 6/8/2020 7:40:33 PMI own all the dlc, and only have a few exotic items to begin with (I've been playing for less than a month). Unless you're suggesting lottery-level odds, there's no way this was a coincidence. Edit: I just did the math, and while I don't know how armour is weighted versus weapons, just the sheer numbers would put the odds of getting the same item as a drop the times in a row at 1 in 531,441, which I straight up don't believe can happen

Not even close to lottery level there are only 28 armor exotics per class then subtract any requiring a compaign completion. So you have a 1 in 27 or so chance of any piece every roll. Not hard to get duplicates

Editado por MtMcK: 6/8/2020 7:49:50 PMYou're neglecting the chance of exotic weapons dropping from engrams, as well as the fact that it dropped three times in a row in back to back nightfalls (which even drops your 1/27 odds to 1/19,000) . Regardless, if you aren't a developer or someone who can actually help, can you stay out of the discussion so that people who actually do have an answer can help please?

The answer from anyone is Rng. You are not the first to complain about bad luck dup drops. Best of luck to you

There is no duplicate protection for open world drops. Only the Fated engram purchased from Xur and the Season Pass exotic engrams will give you an exotic you don't yet have (unless you already have them all). Also, the help forums are public, and as such, you may get an answer from anyone, including Bungie, forum regulars, or walk-ins. The information you have been provided by Tuxy is correct.
