What's the point of Exotics anymore?
No really, whats there purpose anymore?
Every time they add a new exotic that's actually good and can compare to god roll Legendary weapons, they get nerfed to the ground in a matter of months or weeks.
Whipser of the Worm, Sleeper Simulant, Inzaghi Burden, Lord of Wolves Ace of Spades, The Last Word, all nerfed. Then D1 weapons that made a comeback but weren't as good, like Thorn and Queen Breaker's Bow, or weapons they refuse to bring back, two of the many being Gjallarhorn and Icebreaker.
Exotics are suppose to be the trademark weapons of Destiny. For me, the Last Word is comparable to Luke Skywalker's lightsaber. Its iconic, along with many other weapons.
Why do you guys keep nerfing them then, so that they are inferior to Legendaries?! If they are powerful, THAT'S CAUSE THEY ARE "EXOTIC".

Half the time I don't even bother equipping an exotic since their perks are rarely better than the legendaries. Exotics should create a build and playstyle not just be situational.

Whisper of the worm is still gonna be top tier, and izanagi's will be too.

Based on what I’ve seen: They’re supposed to be scarce, they’re supposed to be weak in power unless it’s a quest, they’re supposed to have a unique perk and can supposedly break the rules

12 RespostasThe entire point of Exotics is that they have a Exotic perk that is only unique to them. Exotics were never intended to be powerful weapons to outperform Legendaries. The problem is that Bungie released exotics in states that makes them seem to be powerful. GHorn wasn't powerful because it was a Rocket Launcher with cluster bombs; it was powerful because it had the ability to create more damage due to precise homing cluster bombs.

Personally I don't think exotics should be the most powerful weapons... IMHO they should be exotic, have something regular guns can't do. My probably most favorite exotic is the Fighting Lion. It's not super powerful, but it's super fun to use. It's the only tube launcher in the game you can run as a primary. Plus all the fun with bouncing grenades around corners :) Having exotics be THE best weapons just leads to stagnation of loadout options. Does anyone really want to return to the "no raid party for you if you don't have G-Horn" days?

The introduction of the champion mods pretty much killed off all exotics that either don't have the mods as an effect or can't 1hk a champion before it uses it's shield. Which is why people really loved Izanagi and such. Screw the champion, just 1 bang his arse.

1 ResponderExotics shouldnt necessarily be "stronger" imo just have a exotic/unique quality or use to them... Like death singers void spread or telestos void attachments... Their power shouldnt erase legendary weapons power from usefulness just enhance loadouts for specific accomplishment. Im waiting for Bungie to introduce a Mythic class of weapons/armor. That is what the game needs imo. Not all these nerfs.

Editado por The Hermit IX: 2/24/2020 2:58:52 AMI never used them until they started buffing them. At one point most people weren’t using exotics In their load outs. Sleeper and Whisper changed that along with buffs to weapons like GL etc. Next season Arbalest will be a go to exotic for sure.

Bungie is creatively bankrupt since most of the leads left the game now it's down to slot machine mechanics and hoping they'll keep that 1% of people who just cant miss out

2 RespostasHere's the dirty little secret: Luke Skywalker's lightsaber wasn't any better than any other lightsaber. It was just a lightsaber. Luke Skywalker was winning the fights, not the lightsaber. With LoW or TLW you just win because of the weapon, not because of the wielder..

Ace is still the best 140 Sleeper is still a great DPS weapon and the best linear fusion all around. Whisper is still the best sustained DPS weapon. Izanagi will still be great. Last Word will still keep its optimal TTK. You’ll just have to hip fire for it. LoW will still wreck. Queens breaker is way better in D2 than it ever was in D1. Thorn is literally meta and a common weapon in high level comp and sweats...

2 RespostasVery simply, bc it’s the only way Bungie can make things more difficult at this moment in time. The thinking that bullet sponges are engaging content is debatable, but until completely redesigned styles of play are introduced that are not built specifically around dumping dps as quickly as possible, then this nerfing to make things more difficult will continue.

Most legendaries are better or just as good. They’re a joke nowadays.
