Many of you have your heart in the right place and believe these multi million dollar companies need to add new revenue streams to survive modern game development, but the numbers just don't fit that narrative.
Let's look at some numbers shall we?
Destiny 2's publisher's (Activision) total assets are worth $17.452 billion.

Not sure what Destiny 2's developer (Bungie) is worth, but just their website is estimated to be worth 91,000,000.

The lowest paid Bungie software designer makes $80,000.

Hell Bobby Kotick (Activision's CEO) is worth $2,000,000,000 by himself. How many engrams you think he's bought?

This company doesn't need Eververse to feed themselves. It's purely greed.

My patience with this game I’ve thrown money at for over 3 years is coming to an end.
-
Check out the division, it's had some major updates and improvements since it's launch and it doesn't shove microtransactions down your throat. It's also on sale right now.
-
When mida got re released for the 7th time i got suspicious

The excuse for the non-response will be the holidays prevented them from responding. They will say "We really are overwhelmed by the response from our community and have taken your concerns to our development team. We will be changing things in game in an upcoming patch. blah blah..." We all know that DeeJ is a tool now and doesn't give us the truth. Bungie got us. Let's admit it. We bought the game already. If you really want to protest, quit playing and stop buying.

Editado por A concerend man: 12/23/2017 1:07:33 AMWe're posting these messages in the wrong place. Everyone knows that Bungie reads reddit more than their own forums. We need to post these messages on the Destiny subreddit to really get there attention. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/240843940/0/0 ^Bump this post for awareness

Just have to say, I love the Eververse armor you are currently wearing! A bit hypocritical if I do say so myself, but oh well.

You do realize that those are modest salaries by West Coast standards??
-
I think you're also forgetting the blizzard part of that equation and just how much much of that supposed worth (everyone knows if it's on the internet it's true) they account for. Some changes definitely need to be made to the way that this stuff has been implemented in destiny 2 but if people want to purchase cosmetic items there is nothing wrong with bungie giving them an outlet to do that.

Eververse should go for the sake of making the game better; not because Activision has money.

http://m.ign.com/articles/2017/12/21/call-of-duty-wwii-destiny-2-top-us-sales-for-2017?abthid=5a3b1477ad6b65bd6d000025&watch Let's not mention how d2 was a top seller on the U.S. Taking that and the first dog, many probably bought through season pass, is a huge revenue burst to the point Activision is beating about it. Yet loot boxes cause money
-
Armor drops are so rare because they want you to buy silver. Well guess what Bungie, your Dawning armor looks like garbage anyway.
-
I’m with you Eververse must go!
-
Tell the brain dead they don’t need to buy engrams. Sadly they still will. Shame.

Editado por JAM_GWO: 12/22/2017 10:44:09 PMAssets do not equal income. Some of those assets are IP related to games that diminishes quite rapidly as game sales slow down (until new games or packs for existing games are made). They made $911 million on $6.6 billion in revenue. Those are not bad numbers, but given that it is a publicly trade company, those numbers are only good if the investors are happy with them. It also does not mean they had $911 million to put in the bank. Some of that is reinvested for growth, some of that goes to the investors in the form of dividends, some of that will go to pay off the $4.6 billion in debt the company has. As for $80,000 for a developer at Bungie, that is nothing for a programmer. They are not in Silicone Valley, but the West Coast pay a premium for developers. Whether you think that is a lot of money or not, in that industry in that part of the country, that is not high starting pay. Also, those are salaries reported by employees that chose to report them to Glass Door. Glass Door does not actually know what Bungie actually pays, or if there are any people that make less than what was reported. Those websites that value other websites are garbage and their estimates have no basis in reality. They use a simple formula relating to traffic and a few other pieces of demographic information. They do not take in to account the purpose of the site, how or whether the site is monetized, whether or not the site could really even exist outside of the hands of the company. Using those sites is like using your fortune cookie to buy lotto tickets. I am referring to the Bungie website evaluation. The Forbes site actually does research and is usually pretty close. That is not to say they need the money portion of Eververse, or that they should even have in-game purchasing. Just that your analysis is severely lacking.
