Except the Vex don't conflict with other subdivisions at all. The are a singular collective mind spread across many frames. The Vex search for what they dub an "emperor to all outcomes." This means they simulate every single possible scenario, and they act in some way to ensure that any of these possible chain of events end in Vex victory, or at least their continued survival. Because they are preparing for every scenario possible they must prepare just as many responses and project to fulfill each particular victory condition. The Vault of Glass and Black Garden are two such projects based upon information learned by Quria during his war with Oryx. They are not in a state competition but cooperation. They pursue different paths to the same goal so if either path ends up being the "correct" scenario the Vex as a whole win.

Editado por Chaffinch NL: 9/12/2016 7:27:57 AMI just completed the heroic Paradox mission to get the exotic pulse and i heard preadith say when i entered the portal to defeat the final (taken) minotaur boss that this was the future of the Vex. So it seems that the future of the Vex is that they will all be taken... but by who? Second... you enter a lush forrest when you enter the portal so the future looks a lot better for Mars... Or did i misinterpreted something here.... o.0

The Vex have warred with Oryx for what by now likely amounts to a couple million years. They have searched tirelessly for a single scenario in which they beat him, but they haven't found one. They have concluded that barring a totally unforeseeable and unlikely chain of events (like us killing Oryx) that they are inevitably doomed to be Taken. The future you saw in the Paradox mission is what wild have happened if we didn't kill Oryx. The Vex gambled on us though and used is as a weapon to rid themselves of their biggest adversary.

Remember how the vex did not attack you in the beginning? Thats because they knew the only way to continue their survival was to allow a gaurdian to rid the vault of the taken.

Do you know the name(s) of the fragment(s) which contain this section of the lore? Thanks!
-
That's kind of broad ask. Oryx and Savathun discuss the Vex purpose in Calcified Fragment XL, but the whole Hive-Vex war is covered somewhere in the region Fragments 35-45. Using what we glean there we then apply it to all of VoG, Black Garden, and a couple normal Vex cards to reach the conclusion I posted above. Sorry if that's not terribly specific, but the Vex are a very broad subject that require cross referencing almost the entire grimoire.

That's good for me to go with! Thanks!

This man knows his lore. Oddly enough, the heart of the black garden was not seen as a "god" to the Vex at all. The Vex are irreligious and faithless, relying only on statistics. They "worshipped" the heart to make it more powerful so they cpuld observe it.
-
Yes, but they hoped to become powerful too. Quria leaned that by directing a "worship function" he developed at certain entities, in his case a worm larvae, powers could be derived from it that the worshippers could use. The Black Garden isn't like other projects in the sense we aren't positive it had a specific scenario it was addressing, or just kind of a weird gamble using powers the Vex don't really understand but recognize they must tap into.
-
The important thing to note from the activity at the black garden was the risk that this "worship" may not have worked in their favor or may have backfired. We have to assume the Vex knew what that outcome would be somehow.
