Locke versus Arbiter?
After the negative response to the story in "Halo 2" and the tepid response to the story in "Halo 4", what was 343 thinking?
Numbered Halo games should be one and only one thing: a Master Chief simulator.

It annoys me that you play more missions as Locke then as the chief. Even the last mission of the game is with Locke

Neither ruined their game. Just that Locke missions weren't nearly as cool or compelling as Chief missions.

The difference between Arbiter and Locke is that unlike Locke, Arbiter wasn't a robotic, forced, and generally unlikable character.

Wait a second, people didn't like the arbiter and thought he made halo 2 not as good. First halo 2 was best halo, second how dare people hate arbiter. As for Locke I haven't played 5 yet so I'm not gonna say anything.

I loved the Arbiter and his story, but..Locke is just terrible. He's literally the only person in the story that I don't like. He has NO personality whatsoever. He's just random soldier guy taking orders. He's like a robot.

Editado por MightyJonE: 10/31/2015 3:34:24 AMAlso, the problem with Locke is that he's characterless, so you have zero emotional investment in the character Halo5 follows a number of popular game series where the developers suddenly decide to sideline the main character for a fair amount of the sequel - and such a decision ALWAYS negatively impacts the game and upsets most of the fans (eg MGS2, Halo2, Devil May Cry 4, TR: Angel Of Darkness to a lesser extent - though the second character was only briefly played) So knowing this, it's unbelievable that such a decision was made to severely sideline the chief in his own game

Locke didn't ruin halo 5's story. The way 343i told the story was what ruined it, it was super fun, just told it a little too fast for what they were trying to do.
