End of Destiny: Year Two

So, I've played pretty hard and pretty long the last year. Hours. And with the formal announcement that the "Year One" weapons and armor will be relevant to "Year One" activities, the wind has been taken out of my sails. I haven't played in a week, which is really saying something. And honestly, I can't believe people are still playing. My daily e-mails from the 100 are still full. Here's the thing. It sounds very much like Bungie has just made Taken King a new Destiny altogether. Each and every raid and strike are now obsolete. Tell me why anyone will want to run the amazing Vault of Glass if the weapons and armor are not relevant to any of the new raids or strikes, etc. Your current set of armor and weapons are now obsolete. Put them in your storage and move on. But for new players of the game, they may want to run the VOG just for curiosity's sake. But not to grind for the formerly amazing gear. Then what can we speculate the new Destiny to be? one new strike? One new raid? And then what? There will be no reason to run old raids and strikes. So, new players to the game will be running a couple things, get over it, and then move on to the next game. Why delve deeper into the raid when there is no purpose to it? a new set of guns and gear. But will the Year Two weapons and gear offer the variety of a full year of gear? Not likely. And will everyone love running one raid 30 times? Doesn't seem likely. The effect of the new changes will be this: Destiny will be a pick up and put back down title. It will be short lived like many other games. The Destiny we know and love is ending, killed by the developers. It makes me sad. And today in Gamestop, I started looking at other titles for the first time in a year.
