So I see a lot of people posting now with renewed hope that Xur will sell Gjallarhorn, and i myself don't believe it will happen. I found mine on Wednesday, and finally upgraded Wolfpack rounds on it today through bounties. Right off the bat, I am astounded at how powerful it is against just about any situation. That being said, if Xur sells it, it will render all boss fights obsolete, since the moment everyone begins it they will try to take him out as quickly as possible. I don't think this is something people understand, but selling Icebreaker is not something that affects the gameplay as much as selling Ghallarhorn. What do you think?
Edit: There must be some confusion about the point I am attempting to make on this thread. Yes, many threads said the same about IB prior to Xur this weekend, but my point is there is no 14 second video on YouTube of a 6 man fireteam taking down Atheon on Hard mode using only IB as there is with Gjallarhorn. If Xur sells the gun, then expect situations like that to appear more frequently, and don't be surprised when you do ROC strikes and your two random match teammates unload Gjallarhorn on the bosses. That lowers the quality of the game, and is the reason I don't think they will sell it. Thank you for the replies, but please, be respectful to one another as you interact.
Edit #2: I would like to address a couple more arguments that have been reoccurring. Yes, I am aware Xur has sold Gjallarhorn before, but I do not consider that to be an implication that it will be sold again. If we follow that logic, then is it fair to assume that Hardlight will never be sold? Selling it the second week the game is out (when the game is still in its infant stage) is not a very convincing argument considering the limited knowledge there was about the gun. Look at the forums and you are bound to find someone who regrets passing up on the Gjallarhorn when it was sold. Just because it has been sold before, I do think that implies that it will be sold again. On the other hand, someone brought up the point that Crota is not defeated through conventional damage, but through the the sword. I agree that the more diversity they have for killing bosses, the more limited the gjallarhorns role becomes. If they can add more unique ways to kill bosses, I can be convinced that they will sell Gjallarhorn. However at this current state, the game is not ready for it to be sold based on those standards. Thanks to everyone for keeping it respectful and kind, I appreciate the interest!
Edit 3: there is one last argument (it's really an accusation) that has reoccurred that I want to address. Yes, I admit on Wednesday this week I had my first Gjallarhorn drop, however that does not mean I don't want anyone else to have one, or that I am an elitist. My grimoire score says I have a whopping 72 kills with my gjallarhorn, that is because I use it only when the scenario calls for it. I do not mind people getting Gjallarhorn, I hope you all get it one way or another. I also think we need to step back and just look at what this game would look like if every single person got it through Xur. If, by some chance it is sold (I sincerely believe it will never be sold) I will not come on these forums whining about it since in the grand scheme it is such a small thing. This is only meant to be my rational reasoning for why I don't think Xur will sell it. In no way am I "paranoid" or and "elitist" of anything of that kind. Thank you again for your responses.
Edit 4: DeeJ just released the news that almost 1,500,000 people bought the IB this last week. That was the second most coveted in the game. I He even said they have added new events for the gun (or at least implied it). I can only speculate how many would buy gjallarhorn, but I expect it to be significantly higher than that. Is that a gamble Bungie would make? This is the icing on the cake for me, I don't think they will sell Gjallarhorn. Xur comes tomorrow, we will see then and every Friday after that. Happy hunting guardians!

He will sell it as soon as another game attempts to drive players away from destiny. Wait for a huge release them you'll see it
-
OMG! He sold it before!
-
You know I saw this post and read "why xur won't sell the g-horn" You see, there were hundreds, thousands who claimed xur would never sell the (ice breaker) "again" for the 2nd time but look what happened. You also see that, he already sold it once and will sell it again. If I had a dollar for every time someone said he wouldn't sell one of the main guns in the game that everyone craves to get Id be more than good on money for years.

-
Basically people saying ghorn would ruin the game just want to be the only ones in there team with the most powerful rocket launcher. Xur will obviously sell it, it's just a matter of time and I'll be buying it straight away as I get shit loot drops in this game.
-
sounds like because you have it you dont no one else to have it
-
3 Odpowiedziyou're half right. true, everyone would have it, but they wouldn't even have the dang thing upgraded for months. by then they would have to reroll it and they wouldn't have a shard or the coins. i guess what i'm saying is that the people that would buy it that don't really deserve it or haven't put in the work some of us have to get it wouldn't cherish it and put in the work to upgrade it. they would just tell all their friends they have it and show off with it at stock, which really isn't great. that wouldn't break the game. the people who beat atheon in however many seconds it was were people at max level with maxed ghorns, and they still had to do it all correctly and coordinate their attacks. those types of guys deserve the weapon, even if it came from xur

IB is more game breaking than Ghorn imo. IB allows you to solo basically anything, to take your time and snipe anything from anywhere on a map with unlimited ammo and huge impact. Ghorn, while insanely powerful, is more situational due to its limited ammo and basically just allows you to take down major targets like bosses a lot quicker than it would take with other heavies. In the end Ghorn is all about instant damage and gain of time while IB is more useful and used for way more situations.

Ghorn is so common now anyway, not like it's rare. Every time i run something at least 1 or 2 people have 1.
-
Xur sold it before, he will sell it again.
-
Same was said about Icebreaker last week before friday.
-
He will sell it again you will see And everyone will piss on your post
-
There is no logic or restrictions on Xür. It's a just a weapon and RNG will eventually release it.
-
Do you want to know why the sword is the only thing able to to damage Crota? Your post has the answer.

8 OdpowiedziCan't people just earn it instead of begging BUNGIE to make xur sell it? If we all had it there will be no value to the weapon. Everyone will be using it making other weapons useless. I myself have the Ghorn (very first exotic weapon earned in nightfall) it's just like a normal rocket launcher. Just stop your begging and earn it like some of the rest of us did. Don't be a pain the the people who earned it legitly (this is to all posters who want xur to sell it)
-
2 OdpowiedziRIGHT!!!!! I agree . It would destroy the game flow in every way.
-
So many people are getting the thing lately that they might as well sell it. It needs the needs the nerf before hard comes out either way
-
1 OdpowiedźIt's random. We have no control, no matter what it does to the game. Suck it up.
-
He's already sold it once man, he will again. Most people have it so bungie will hand it out to those with little luck in the rng
-
6 OdpowiedziJust gunna favorite this so I can see your edit when he does sell it again.
-
You sure are gonna look stupid when he does sell it
-
8 OdpowiedziThis is one if the most logical posts on the Ghorn I've seen, especially clarifying all of the arguments that people use most commonly through the edits. To anyone who says this gun won't break the game or isn't that good, you either don't have it or don't use it. I solo gatekeepers in the VoG, break through gorgons, watch Atheon break, to those that say it is useless in the Crota raid, I destroy the ogres on the bridge section, make the death singer nonexistent, one shot shriekers, and for Crota, I may not do damage, but considering it takes 2, yes 2 rockets to make Crota take a knee my sword bearer can move in for the kill every time after the first rocket hits and get full sword hits without any sorry of death. Solar damage nightfalls are a joke, I might as well be playing a level 2 mission, and wolf pack rounds can hit targets if I miss my rocket in pvp. If xur sells this gun I'm done with destiny because it'll be like playing a game with no challenge. What would be the point?

Edytowany przez użytkownika Howie: 1/19/2015 4:45:22 PMIf what you're saying is true, the ghorn needs to be nerfed - if only to stop Destiny becoming a balancing nightmare. We don't want a situation when devs are taking the ghorn into account when balancing boss fights as they will be too hard for those not rng blessed, nor do we want them balancing boss fights for every other launcher and ignoring the wolfpack as they will be too easy for the ghorn wielding lucksters (I mean the people that 'earned' one) out there.

3 OdpowiedziIt's on the loot table Xur can sell. He will sell it again at some point.
-
2 OdpowiedziToo lazy to read shit posts like this anymore.
-
I think he will sell it again.... at the same way like the icebreaker does.... RNG! My thoughts are, that some exotics more rare then others. Sunbreakers, Plan C or other often sould exotics by xur haves a lot more chance to be sould again as the GHorn / Hardlight (never sould yet) / icebreaker, but they would.
